Brownwood Police and Fire Departments were called to a motor vehicle accident at the Wildwood Apartment complex, 1500 Davis Lane, late Thursday night which resulted in the arrest of a man for driving while intoxicated.
According to the report, at approximately 11:00 p.m., 27-year-old Jonathan Britt Stanke, Jr. was found to have driven his Chevrolet pickup through the parking lot of the apartment, damaging approximately 150 feet of chain link fencing before driving off of the lot and into a ditch below. Pictured above is the scene of the accident and Stanke’s truck lodged in the heavy brush.
Stanke admitted to officers that he had been drinking prior to the accident and was found to be intoxicated, according to the report. No injuries were reported.

Thursday, January 17
*1:13 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant advised that someone had taken a wedding ring from her apartment during a party.
*9:48 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the suspect vehicle left the scene; however, was caught a short time after the accident on Simmons Street just off of W. Commerce.
*10:05 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Davis Lane regarding a domestic disturbance. This call led to the arrest of 24-year-old Samantha Gonzales for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
*10: 39 PM – Brownwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of Victoria Street. According to the report, the suspect had left the scene before officers arrived.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Larry D. Leistikow for public intoxication.
Friday, January 18
*Bangs Police arrested 22-year-old Jason Murray of Bangs on charges of assault causes bodily injury family violence.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 58-year-old Jerel Don Roddy of Morton, TX for evading arrest/detention with vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
