Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of 10th Street regarding an assault which, according to police reports, led to a woman and her son being assaulted, and later, the arresting officer being punched in the jaw during a struggle to arrest the suspect.
According to the report, the female victim and 42-year-old Gerald Lee Chadwick were sitting in a hot tub in the back yard of the residence talking and drinking beer when Chadwick began to call the woman unfavorable names. Chadwick became angry when the woman stated that he needed to leave and he punched the door twice breaking the glass and part of the wood of the door, the report states.
The victim told police that Chadwick grabbed her by the throat and threw her on a bed in her son’s room. The son who had been in the backyard entered the house and began to yell at Chadwick to leave his mother alone, the report states. The victim threw her cell phone to the son to call 911; however, as he attempted to call, Chadwick grabbed the son, throwing him into a wall and began twisting the son’s arm and took the phone, according to police. The female victim grabbed a level which was in the room and began defending her son by hitting Chadwick in the back, the report states. Again, Chadwick grabbed the woman by the throat and began assaulting her while the son was able to escape from the house to a neighbor’s to call 911. Chadwick attempted to lock the doors of the home to prevent the woman from leaving; however she was able to escape through an unlocked door and run to the neighbor’s house for help, reports state.
As police arrived, Chadwick refused to come out of the home. When police entered the home, Chadwick stated that he had been assaulted by the victim and turned to show officers his injuries, the report states. As an officer was attempting to pat him down for weapons, Chadwick turned and punched the officer in the jaw, the report states. Assisting officers helped force Chadwick to the ground, where he continued to resist arrest, and according to the report, officers threatened to shoot Chadwick with a taser if he continued to resist. Chadwick continued to threaten officers, yell to the neighbors for help and began beating his head on the patrol car, the report states.
Chadwick was arrested on charges of Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence, Assault with Injury Family Violence by Strangulation, Assault on a Public Servant and Interference with an Emergency Telephone Call.

*2:28pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant who reported that unknown suspects have forged over $4500 from her bank account.
Friday, January 13
*2:25pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Avenue E regarding found property. According to the report, the complainant found a social security card at a rent house he was working on at the end of December. The officer took custody of the card and placed it in the Brownwood Police Department property room for safe keeping until it can be claimed by its owner.
*3:37pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that approximately 90 steel railroad anchors were stolen from the 1400 block of Center Avenue around January 9th and 10th, totaling a $720 loss for Texas Rock Crusher Railroad. A suspect has been identified in this case, the report states.
*5:13pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding lost property. According to the report, the complainant stated that he had left his cell phone on the counter at a convenience store in the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue. At the time of the report, the cell phone had not been located.
*6:43pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Avenue I regarding a civil matter. This call regarding child custody led to the arrest of the male half of the incident being on an outstanding warrant.
*7:45pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 600 block of Booker Street for failing to signal a turn. This stop led to the arrest of 52-year-old Allan Edwin Bocknite, Sr. for Driving While Intoxicated.
*8:50pm-Brown County Sheriff’s deputies made a traffic stop in the 500 block of W. Commerce which led to the arrest of Brian Keith Sanderson for Driving While Intoxicated. During the stop, open containers of alcohol were found in the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle had also been drinking and was intoxicated; however he was released from the scene after calling someone to come pick him up. Sanderson was also charged with Open Alcohol Container. A voluntary blood specimen was collected at Brownwood Regional Medical Center ER.
*10:04pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding two female subjects fighting. According to the report, both females involved were contacted and stated that the other party assaulted them. Both wished to pursue charges the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Denman Carrol Cain for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
*Early Police arrested 26-year-old Clinton Ray Jones for Driving While License Suspended/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
*Bangs Police arrested 64-year-old Alfredo Cantu Leal of San Angelo for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz. in a Drug Free Zone.
Saturday, January 14
*8:02am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Cordell regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, investigation showed that the complainant’s tires on his vehicle had possibly been “slashed” due to them being flat. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*9:28am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Cordell regarding a vehicle burglary. According to the report, the complainant reported that sometime overnight; someone broke out the passenger side window of her vehicle and gained entry. Several items were taken from inside the car. No suspects had been identified at the time of the report.
*8:45pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 200 block of Austin Avenue for a defective license plate lamp. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Martin Cooper Eoff, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2A.

Sunday, January 15
*1:15am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a report of a hit and run accident in the 400 block of Mulberry. According to the report, a dumpster had been struck and a Dodge pickup had left the scene. The pickup was located by police, parked near a residence with a significant amount of damage. The vehicle’s license plate was later found under the dumpster. One officer saw the female driver, identified as 39-year-old Karey Ann Givens Alvarado, exit the vehicle. Alvarado was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. A voluntary blood sample was taken at Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room.
*3:22-Brown County Sheriff’s Office deputies noticed an unoccupied vehicle parked in the roadway near the intersection of Hwy 279 and FM 2125. After the occupants were located in a nearby parking lot of a convenience store, investigation showed that the driver, 22-year-old Juan Raul Ibarra, was intoxicated and his female passenger had also been drinking, the report states. Investigation determined that the two had been arguing and Ibarra was taking the female home when they stopped to pick up some eyeglasses that she had tossed out of the car during their argument. Ibarra was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and a voluntary blood specimen was collected at Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room.
*2:07pm-Brownwood Police responded to the report of a juvenile problem in the 2200 block of Avenue E. According to the report, investigation determined that a male juvenile had threatened his father during an argument and then fled the scene.
*7:39pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Avenue D regarding a burglary in progress. According to the report, three subjects were located exiting the abandoned home. The subjects, identified as 17-year-old Kristopher Roe, 19-year-old Elizabeth Roe and 19-year-old Gerald Livingston, were arrested for Criminal Trespass of a Habitation.
*9:39pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Edwards Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had damaged the driver’s side door of her vehicle. The damage was consistent with someone attempting to pry the door open, the report states. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Filigonio Vasquez of Cross Plains for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction.

Monday, January 16
*2:30am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Magnolia Street in reference to a call reporting a window being broken out of an apartment at the complex. According to the report, the call led to a traffic stop of three female subjects in the 900 block of Idlewild Street. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Dorinda Dolores Soliz, admitted to damaging the window and was also found to be intoxicated, according to police reports. Soliz was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
*4:05am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive, regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a friend had stolen a Playstation 3 Limited Edition, several games, cigarettes and a gift card.
*9:53am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Market Place Blvd., the Branding Iron Café, regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown suspect(s) kicked the driver’s door of her vehicle.
*1:22pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Magnolia Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that some unknown subject stole her son’s bicycle.
*2:07pm-Brownwood Police received a report of harassment via telephone. The suspect is the complainant’s ex-girlfriend.
*4:27pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding an animal bite. According to the report, the complainant stated that her 9-year-old son had been bitten by a pit bulldog.
*4:39pm-A Brownwood Police officer was flagged down by a complainant in the 600 block of W. Anderson. The complainant advised that someone had entered the residence, without permission, and caused damage to the living room ceiling.
*6:04pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Whaley Street regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that she and her boyfriend had been involved in an argument and he had struck her in the left side of her face and then fled the scene. The complainant refused transport to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room after Guardian EMS arrived on scene.
*7:54pm-A Brownwood Police officer was on patrol in the 1700 block of Avenue B when he observed a black pickup parked in front of a residence with its passenger side door open. According to the officer’s report, he then noticed an intoxicated male lying on the sidewalk by the open door of the pickup who was holding a partially consumed bottle of alcohol. This incident would lead to the arrest of 40-year-old William Joe Bailey for Public Intoxication.
*9:29pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce, Taco Bell, regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, officers arrived to find an intoxicated male, identified as 44-year-old Ronnie Patterson of Early, standing in the parking lot. Patterson was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Angela Marie Kinsey and 38-year-old Tommy Lee Kinsey for Theft of Property Equal or Greater than $50 Less than or Equal to $500.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Bobby Wayne Michalski, Jr. for Theft of Property Equal or Greater than $50 Less than or Equal to $500.
*Early Police arrested 36-year-old Danny Salas for Disorderly Conduct.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
