HeardHunterJackEarly Police Corporal Brandon McMillian received a call in reference to an individual wanting to turn himself at the Early Police Department on some out of county warrants on Wednesday evening, according to law enforcement.

When the officer made contact, the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Hunter Jack Heard, appeared to be intoxicated, the report states.  Corporal McMillian advised Brown County dispatch of the suspect’s name and date of birth; however, when dispatch ran the suspect’s information, it showed he had no active warrants, the report states.

Corporal McMillian released the subject to the sober driver of the vehicle they had arrived in, and moments later, he was contacted by dispatch who advised that the suspect had called 911 several times during which he threatened to assault the dispatchers and then to kill them, according to the report.

Cpl. McMillian located Heard in the parking lot of Sonic in Early where he was placed under arrest for silent or abusive calls to 911 service and minor in consumption of alcohol.  While Cpl. McMillian was placing Heard under arrest, Heard resisted arrest, the report states.  Once in the car, Heard head butted Cpl. McMillian while he was attempting to secure him with the seatbelt, the report states.  Heard also spit on Cpl. McMillian on their way to the jail, according to the report.  Heard was additionally charged with resist arrest, search or transportation; assault on a public servant; and harassment of a public servant.

Tuesday, January 14

*7:35 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Jason Preston Gross for assaulting a victim on two separate occasions.  According to the report, the first assault was on January 13th and the second on January 14th when Gross was released and returned home (in Bangs) from jail.  Gross strangled the female victim causing her airway to be obstructed on both occasions, the report states.  He also physically assaulted the victim, including kicking her while she was on the ground, exhibited a knife holding it to her throat and also cut her on her breasts during the assault, the deputy’s report states.  Gross was tracked to Budget Inn where he was taken into custody without incident in the lobby of the motel, according to the report.  Gross was charged with assault family/house member impede breath.  An application for an emergency protection order was filled out and given to the jail staff on behalf of the victim, the report states.

Wednesday, January 15

*12:17 PM – A Brownwood Police officer was at a traffic light at the intersection of E. Commerce and Main Streets when he saw a vehicle which stayed stopped for around six seconds after the light turned green.  According to the report, when it entered  the 100 block of E. Commerce, it was very close to the median and entered the outside lane, traveled a few blocks then jerked into the inside traffic lane.  A traffic stop was made and the driver, 42-year-old Sheila Willett was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

*4:10 PM- Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Maple Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that while she was hospitalized, an unknown subject burglarized her home and took her medication.

*10:21 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Beaver and W. Commerce Streets on a vehicle that was driving without its headlights.  After an investigation was completed, the driver, identified as 53-year-old Jerry Colbert was arrested and criminally charged with possession of marijuana less than two ounces and failure to identify giving false/fictitious information.

*A suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway just off of the roadway of North U.S. Hwy 183 was reported to the law enforcement center on Wednesday.  According to the report, a Brown County Sheriff’s deputy arrived and found an SUV in the right of way with the engine running.  The driver, identified as 51-year-old Barbara Jean Jessup of Early, was difficult to arouse and was found to be intoxicated, the report states.  Jessup refused a blood test and a blood search warrant was obtained and a sample was taken at Brownwood Regional Medical Center, according to the deputy’s report.  Jessup was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated second offense.  She has a prior DWI conviction and another DWI this month in Eastland County, the report states.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 39-year-old Jorge Luis Estrada Avila for driving while license invalid, unvaccinated animals, unrestrained animals.

*Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested 23-year-old Jordan Noel Doucette of Rising Star on a warrant for motion to revoke/possession of a controlled substance.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Jonathan Shane Eisenhauer on warrants related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and tamper fabricate physical evidence.

*47-year-old Jose Guadalupe Mares turned himself in on a warrant related to cruelty to livestock animals.

Thursday, January 16

*Bangs Police arrested 21-year-old Christopher James Cotton for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Early Police arrested 20-year-old Cody Alan Holloway of Lewisville for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
