Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, November 29, 2010.
Monday, November 22
*9:05am-Brownwood Police were called to the intersection of Main and W. Austin where they met with HPU Security. According to the report, information had been received by HPU Security regarding the damage caused to a decorative brick wall at the intersection. No suspects were known at the time of the report and the investigation is ongoing.
*10:06am-Brownwood Police received a report of lost property. According to the report, a complainant advised that she had left her wallet lying on a shelf at Walgreens on 11/19 at approximately 8:30pm. When she realized that the wallet was missing, she returned to the store but was unable to find it the report states.
*4:30pm-A Brownwood Police officer, while picking up informational papers from Brownwood High School, noted as he was leaving the building that the American and Texas flags were missing from the exterior flag poles. The officer found it unusual that the flags, which are flown all hours night and day, were missing and that the ropes were cauterized above the lockboxes of the poles the report states. An investigation has begun at the request of the administration.
Tuesday, November 23
*8:31am-Brownwood Police initiated a traffic stop for speeding in the 2500 block of Southside Drive. According to the report, the officer asked the driver, identified as 54-year-old Schylet Davis, if she had any pills on her person. The report states that Davis pulled out a metal container which contained Carisprodol, Alprazolam and Morphine Sulfate. These pills were found outside their original container the report states. Consequently, Davis was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 less than 1 g in a Drug Free Zone and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.
*2:28pm-Brownwood Police responded to a possible burglary in progress at the area of 4th Street and Fisk. According to the report, a witness stated that she had seen two males cut locks on a residence and enter. The witness also noted the suspects were driving a red Chevrolet pickup. A search of the area was conducted however, no vehicle was found at that time. The owner of the residence stated that a shotgun was stolen from the home the report states.
Later, another officer stopped a vehicle for investigatory purposes which matched the description of the above suspect vehicle. According to the report, the license plate matched the number provided by the witness. The officer from the original call responded to the area a short time later and identified the driver as 30-year-old Rudolfo “Rudy” Hernandez Lopez of Early. A short time later, after being read his Miranda Rights, Lopez confessed to the burglary and identified the other suspect according to police reports. Lopez was charged with Burglary of a Habitation Intend other Felony and Theft of a Firearm.
Wednesday, November 24
*9:48am-A Brownwood Police officer was travelling north in the 1300 block of 15th Street and was flagged down by a man driving a green van. According to the report, the driver explained that a woman driving a maroon Mercury passenger car struck his vehicle when she pulled onto 15th street after exiting an alleyway at a high rate of speed. When the man got out of the van to check the damage caused to his vehicle, and he found the license plate of the car laying in the road the report states. The recorded owner of the suspect vehicle was contacted and stated that she had traded in the vehicle over a month ago with a used car company near Lake Brownwood according to police reports. Police are attempting to contact the business to find the owner of the car. The investigation is ongoing and the complainant does wish to pursue charges for fleeing the scene of an accident if the suspect is located.
*10:12am-Brownwood Police received a report from officials at BRMC regarding an employee who is being harassed by telephone while at work.
*3:13pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1100 block of Irma. According to the report, a male subject had started a physical fight with his younger brother regarding a comment that was said about another individual. The male, identified as 18-year-old Nacoma Davis, was arrested for Assault by Threat or Offensive Touch of Family Member.
*7:50pm-Brownwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2100 block of 12th Street. The suspect left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. A warrant will be sought for Interfere with Emergency Call and Assault Family Violence the report states.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 21-year-old Sara Kristine Mitchell of Frisco for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
Thursday, November 25
*12:30am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 Block of Avenue G regarding a burglary of a vehicle. According to police, a man had come to visit his mother and upon arriving, noted a Hispanic male in her car. As he approached the male, the suspect ran away to a nearby apartment the report states. The woman’s son led police to the apartment according to police reports.
Police asked the resident of the apartment if any Hispanic males were in the apartment, one man appeared, later identified as 18-year-old Santos Jimenez of Coleman. Jimenez, when questioned, stated that he was intoxicated and had gotten into the car by mistake thinking it was his friend’s car the report states. As police were speaking with the Jimenez, the woman’s son notified police that an MP3 player was discovered to be missing from the car according to the report. Jimenez was subsequently arrested for burglary of a vehicle. Police officials states that the following day, the resident of the apartment reported finding an MP3 player in his front yard.
*8:18pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding a burglary of a habitation. Investigation was made of the scene. Several articles of jewelry were taken from the residence. No suspect information was known at the time of the report.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 52-year-old Debbie Moore McDaniel for Public Intoxication.
*Brownwood City Marshall arrested 42-year-old Victor Glen Woodward for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More.
Friday, November 26
*7:37am-Brownwood Police were called to a hit and run accident in the 500 block of E. Commerce at a local restaurant. A parked car had been damaged. No suspect information or suspect vehicle was known at the time of the report and the investigation is ongoing.
*9:38am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 4th Street. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had stolen a 14K gold men’s ring with 20 diamonds on it and a cross necklace. Both items were valued at a total approximate value of $810 the report states.
*2:40pm-Brownwood Police were called to the area of 4th Street and Poindexter regarding a possible drunk driver. According to the report, a traffic stop was made on a vehicle that matched the description given by dispatch. The driver was identified as 49-year-old John Phillip Couch. Couch was consequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
*5:47pm-Brownwood Police received information regarding a possible telephone scam. Through initial investigation, it is believed that several people from many areas are receiving calls threatening law suits for unpaid debts the report states.
*10:54pm-Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 800 block of 6th Street which resulted in the arrest of the driver 41-year-old James Charles Williams for Driving While License Invalid and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
*11:53pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a one vehicle accident with injuries in the 1800 block of 10th Street. Further investigation revealed that the driver was possibly under the influence of Hydrocodone at the time of the accident according to the report. A warrant will be sought for Driving While Intoxicated pending the results of the blood specimen the report states.
Saturday, November 27
*11:14am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding a suspicious person. According to the report, a subject was noted to be peeking into vehicles in the parking lot. After getting the description of the suspect, officers located him on Wal-Mart property and identified him as 51-year-old James Clement Dunn. Communications advised officers that Dunn had a criminal trespass warning for Wal-Mart properties and subsequently Dunn was arrested for criminal trespass. During a search incident to the arrest, officers located a short knife which was sharpened on both sides, creating a dagger the report states. Dunn was also charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
*Brownwood Police made a traffic stop which led to the arrest of 20-year-old Johnathan Delgado for Driving While License Invalid/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 46-year-old Steven Allen McNabb for Driving While Intoxicated.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault that occurred at a party at 5:30am. A woman reported being thrown across a room into a dresser after having an argument with a man at the party. Visible bruises and injuries were seen on the woman. The incident is being investigated.
Sunday, November 28
*2:02am-Brownwood Police were called to Kroger, 302 Main Street, regarding theft of beer. According to the report, a male approximately 19-years-old wearing a bright yellow shirt ran out of the store with a 24 pack of beer valued at $14.99.
*3:40am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1100 block of Coggin regarding two intoxicated males. One suspect, identified as 19-year-old Richard Lopez, was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 44-year-old Arnulfo Hernandez for Driving While Intoxicated/Open Container/3rd or More.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
