Monday, November 26

*1:20 a.m.-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Avenue K regarding a suspicious subject who was sitting against the fence of a property near a vacant lot.  The male subject was identified as 20-year-old Chad Allan Wittke of Blanket and was later arrested for public intoxication.

*8:05 a.m.-Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Belle Plain regarding theft.  According to the report, a tire and rim were stolen from a vehicle at the car lot.

*9:06 a.m.-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Magnolia regarding a possible sexual assault.  Upon arrival, it was determined that the offense occurred in Coleman County and was referred to the Coleman County Investigator.

*7:47 p.m.-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Avenue E regarding found property.   According to the report, a black mountain bike had been located in the alley way behind the 1900 block of Avenue E.  The bicycle did not come back as stolen and was taken to the Brownwood Police Department for safe keeping until it is properly identified and claimed by its owner.

*7:55 p.m.-Brownwood Police were called to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant advised that her ex-girlfriend had become aggressive during an argument and ripped the shirt that the complainant was wearing during the argument.  She also damaged some of the complainant’s clothes located in the complainant’s closet and fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival, the report states.

*8:23 p.m.-Brownwood Police responded to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, a female complainant stated that another female took her purse while she was loading groceries into her vehicle.  Dispatch advised officers that the suspect vehicle was an older model red car which left in the direction of W. Commerce, the report states.

The responding officer spoke with the victim and reviewed video footage of the incident from Wal-Mart security cameras.  The suspect vehicle was located traveling on Main Street and a traffic stop was initiated.  The investigation led to the arrest of 18-year-old Karley Cogburn and 42-year-old William McCaslin, both of whom were charged with two counts of fraudulent use or possession of identifying information and transported to the Brown County Jail.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 19-year-old Joseph Ryan Garrett of Bryan for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 less than 1 gram; possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2-A less than or equal to 2 ounces; and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Joshua Taylor Weedon for assault causing bodily injury.
