Friday, November 21
*9:48 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Irma Street regarding the burglary of a building. According to the report, an unknown suspect broke into her storage shed and attempted to steal her lawn mower.
*12:03 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, the suspect fled the scene but was being followed by the complainant. The officer located and identified the suspect in the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue. The suspect was issued a criminal trespass warning and cited for theft less than $50 before being released from the scene.
*10:25 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding forgery. According to the report, a local business had cashed 10 counterfeit checks on Thursday. The checks looked like checks from a business for which they normally cash checks, the report states. An investigation is ongoing, according to police.
*1:40 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s investigators received information that 30-year-old Steven Gene Biggs of Brownwood was driving a pickup in the North side of Brownwood and would be in possession of methamphetamine. According to the report, BCSO investigators located the pickup at a home which was known to be frequented by methamphetamine users. Investigators surveyed the home and observed the pickup leave the house, located in the 1700 block of Houston Street, the report states. The pickup traveled away from the home and committed a traffic violation, and a traffic stop was made, according to the report. The driver and passenger made movements the investigators recognized as possibly efforts to conceal something, according to the deputy. The driver was identified as Biggs and he had a female passenger with him, both were visibly nervous, the report states.Consent to search the vehicle was denied; however, before the K9 arrived, Biggs stated that there would be hypodermic needles and insulin in the vehicle because he was a diabetic, according to the report. The female passenger stated that Biggs had told her to hide a glass methamphetamine pipe he handed her during the stop, which she surrendered to the deputy, the report states. Biggs was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 4 grams in a drug free zone, due to the stop being near Gladys Stewart Park, and for tampering with physical evidence.
*4:42 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of a golf cart. The complainant refused to press charges against the two known suspects; however, he did with for criminal trespass warnings for his property to be issued to one of the suspects.
*5:37 PM –Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Greenleaf regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, officers were notified that there were possibly narcotics and paraphernalia in the residence. Officers were granted consent to search the residence and this call led to the arrest of 44-year-old Marty Gene Cunningham of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone and on a parole warrant, the report states. The investigation is ongoing according to police.
*8:19 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, the store manager advised that a known subject was caught shoplifting some merchandise from inside the store. The subject received a trespass warning for the above listed address and was then cited and released for theft less than $50.
*11:17 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of W. Chandler regarding an intoxicated person. According to the report, the subject was transported to the emergency room for the treatment of injuries received during a fall.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that her boyfriend had assaulted her with a toilet plunger after a verbal argument.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 60-year-old Albert Duffie of Brownwood on a warrant related to public intoxication.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 27-year-old Jamie Danielle Fulton of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Alejandra Demestric Hall of Brownwood on warrants related to motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated and two counts of public intoxication.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 25-year-old Breanne Nicholle Jones of Brownwood on warrants related to driving while license invalid and expired registration.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 22-year-old Justin Don Lewis of Brownwood on a warrant related to theft.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Leslee Jo Reid of Blanket on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brownwood Police arrested 31-year-old Sandra Nadia Sanchez of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.
Saturday, November 22
*1:35 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding a disturbance. According to the report, an investigation determined 24-year-old Brittany Nicole Alderson of Brownwood had assaulted two males at the residence. It was also determined, once removed from the residence, that Alderson shattered the front window of the residence in an attempt to regain entry and continue assaulting the parties inside, the report states.
*10:00 AM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft. According to the report, a female subject was issued a citation for class C theft after attempting to steal merchandise from the store.
*11:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft. According to the report, while on scene, additional information was received in reference to an unrelated theft and trespassing that occurred on November 4th. A report was filed at the request of store management for class B theft and trespassing against a known subject.
*5:22 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of 5th Street regarding criminal trespass.
*6:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding theft. According to the report, loss prevention employees advised they had three females that were shoplifting in the store. One of the females was detained, one was loose in the store, and another was outside of the store, the report states. This call led to the arrest of 40-year-old Susan Michelle Chrane, 23-year-old Gwendolyn Doud and 24-year-old Carrie Thetford, all of Brownwood, for engaging in organized criminal activity and theft greater than $50 less than $500.
*9:31 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Austin Avenue regarding a report of possible drug activity at Coggin Park. While conducting a walk through, contact was made with two male subjects, which led to both subjects being written citations for minor in possession of tobacco.
*10:46 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Phillips Blvd. regarding the theft of a cell phone.
*Brownwood Police arrested 45-year-old Treasa Louise Christy of Bangs for public intoxication and theft of property greater than $50 less than $500.
*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old Cadie Dee Melvin of Bangs for disorderly conduct.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Daniel Lee Mendieta of Brownwood on a Travis County warrant related to driving while license invalid.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Jonathon Colby Moore of Brownwood on warrants related to minor in possession of tobacco and minor in possession of alcohol.
*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Tyler Keith Neal Teague of Brownwood on warrants related to failure to appear and consumption of alcohol by minor.
Sunday, November 23
*8:36 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Hide Out golf club on FM 2632 N regarding a report of criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant and victim stated that they have had problems with a known subject over the weekend. The suspect and other unknown subjects have allegedly been trespassing on the properties managed by the complainants, according to law enforcement. A game warden has also been notified that the suspect and others have been hunting on private property, the report states. The complainants believe the suspect and the other people in question had scattered roofing nails around the deer stands which have caused damage to the trucks of both complainants, namely significant tire damage, the report states.
*5:37 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Greenleaf regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, the female caller stated that a male subject had kicked in a locked door and was now sitting on the couch drinking beer. The officer made contact with a female who stated that she had been head butted by her boyfriend causing her injury, according to the report. The female wished to pursue charges, the report states.
*7:32 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on 25-year-old James Lee Kinsey and his female passenger. According to the report, Kinsey was arrested for warrants and a vehicle inventory led to the discovery of a firearm which was allegedly stolen, according to Kinsey. He stated that the firearm was obtained from a known subject and an investigation of this matter is currently ongoing, the report states.
*10:24 PM – Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding a defective headlight. According to the report, while officers were out with the vehicle, they detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. This stop led to the issuance of a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
*10:49 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Melwood regarding the burglary of a habitation. Several items were removed from the residence sometime between Thursday and Friday morning.
*11:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of S. US Hwy 377 regarding possible narcotics activity. According to the report, after conducting a thorough investigation, 17-year-old Kolton Reeves of Early was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2A less than 2 ounces. 20-year-old Trevolia Jaleel Rudd of Brownwood was also arrested during this incident for outstanding warrants, the report states.
*12:28 PM – A Brownwood Police officer was on patrol in the area of Elizabeth and Low Streets when the officer observed a vehicle with a headlamp out. According to the report, the officer conducted a stop on the vehicle for the violation which led to two citations being issued, one for driving under the influence of alcohol and for minor in consumption.
*Brownwood Police arrested 50-year-old Jorge Coronel Bucio of Brownwood for public intoxication.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old James Mountfield of Austin for driving while intoxicated 2nd, and on a warrant related to theft of service equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*Early Police arrested 53-year-old Brenda Joyce Pospech of Dublin on a Hamilton County warrant related to theft by check.
Monday, November 24
*1:18 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Starkey Street regarding a defective headlight and an expired motor vehicle registration. According to the report, the driver, identified as 42-year-old Frederick Lee Hemphill, had blood shot eyes and was sweating profusely despite the cool weather. When asked if there was anything illegal inside the vehicle or on his person, Hemphill stated that there would be a marijuana blunt in the front of the vehicle, which was found by the deputy in the floor below the driver’s seat, the report states. A search of the rest of the vehicle located 22 ounces of marijuana in the center console, 4.8 grams of marijuana in the ashtray, and several marijuana roaches throughout the vehicle, according to the report. In the front floorboard of the vehicle an Arizona Lemonade container was found that had a hidden compartment inside (used to conceal narcotics) and an Ecstasy pill was found in the ash tray, the report states. The back seat area of the vehicle found a brown paper bag which contained a large 7 pound brick of marijuana wrapped in green cellophane, the report states.
