Thursday, November 17

*3:30pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Asbury regarding child custody issues.  According to the report, a father came to the residence requesting his child and the mother was refusing the request.

Monday, November 21

*7:39am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Campus Drive regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant advised that his vehicle was burglarized sometime between 11:00pm Friday, November 18th and 11:00pm November 20th.  Items stolen included an Aiwa speaker and speaker box and a new vehicle water pump which was still in the box.  Value of items were estimated at $62.

*8:22am-Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Main Street regarding a warrant service.  This call led to the arrest of 25-year-old Martin Isadore Cortez of Harker Heights for a pre-revocation warrant and Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.

*3:30pm-Brownwood Police received a found wallet.  According to the report, a resident in the 1100 block of Indian Creek located the wallet in front of her house and dropped the wallet off at the Brownwood Police Department as found property.

Tuesday, November 22

*3:23pm-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the police department who identified herself as the victim of a theft that occurred at her residence in the 2300 block of 1st Street.  According to the report, a 14K gold men’s ring with a diamond in the middle of the ring was stolen. The ring’s value was estimated to be $200, the report states.

*4:35pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant identified the suspect and stated that he had been “messing with” her vehicle and identified herself as the victim of a burglary of a vehicle from which two prescription medications were stolen.

*6:08pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of Beaver Street regarding a child custody issue.  The complainant stated that the suspect would not relinquish the child as per court order.  Court documentation was checked and revealed that the child was to be relinquished to the complainant for the Thanksgiving holiday.  The suspect continued to refuse and was advised of the consequences of Interfere with Child Custody.

*6:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Main regarding a domestic disturbance.  The complainant stated that one of his roommates had assaulted him. There were three other witnesses of the assault, the report states.  Statements were taken from the witnesses and complainant.  The complainant did wish to pursue criminal charges against the suspect.

*6:24pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Phillips Drive regarding a custody issue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his ex-wife was refusing to allow him to have his daughter for the Thanksgiving holiday.  All court documentation was not available; therefore information could not be verified and a report for Interfere with Child Custody was generated.

*6:57pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of W. Commerce regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated she was shopping in the business between the hours of 5:30pm and 6:00pm and returned to her vehicle to find that the passenger window of her vehicle had been broken out and her daughter’s purse had been stolen.  No evidence could be recovered, the report states.  The investigation continues.

*9:33pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Commerce regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between the hours of 5:30pm and 9:30pm, an unknown subject broke out the front right window of the complainant’s vehicle.  The cost to repair the damage is estimated to be $100, the report states.  The complainant did wish to pursue criminal charges if a suspect could be identified.

*10:19pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4400 block of US Hwy 377, the Section Hand Steak House, regarding a burglary.  According to the report, the complainant advised that between 5:00pm and 10:00pm an unknown subject had broken into her car and stole $250 in cash.

*10:25pm-Brownwood Police responded to the Law Enforcement Center where a complainant reported theft of medication.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject stole a hygiene bag containing numerous personal care items and a medication bottle with Adderall.  No suspect information could be provided; however the complainant indicated that the incident occurred at a friend’s apartment on the HPU campus.

Wednesday, November 23

*2:51am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside regarding domestic violence.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter had assaulted her and her son.  A short time later, the officer was able to speak with the suspect whose account of the incident differed slightly from that of the others, the report states.  No arrest was made at the time of the report.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
