Wednesday, November 20
*3:41 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of Norwood Street regarding a civil matter. According to the report, the complainant said she had been verbally threatened by the father of her child.
Thursday, November 21
*7:51 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside Drive, Food Plaza, regarding theft. According to the report, this call led to two juveniles being identified at Brownwood High School as suspects.
*11:37 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft. According to the report, loss prevention officials at Wal-Mart stated that a now terminated employee had stolen $170 from the business between November 10th and November 19th by transferring money to Wal-Mart gift cards and then using the cards to purchase merchandise.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a telephone call regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant and her boyfriend had gone to a rural address to give 26-year-old Tiffany Ann Bostick a ride. During the ride, Bostick and the complainant’s boyfriend began arguing and Bostick began to strike the boyfriend in the head and face, the report states. Allegedly, Bostick used a small pocketknife and held it to her mother’s throat, according to the report. The mother stopped the car and told Bostick to get out, the report states. She was found a short distance away by a deputy and arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault causes bodily injury family violence.*12:41 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding theft of property. According to the report, a juvenile subject had been observed stealing merchandise from the business. The juvenile was apprehended, identified, and arrested for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500, the report states.
*1:04 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, a subject was detained for theft and during an investigation, the suspect was identified and the stolen property was recovered. The suspect was issued a citation for theft and then released from the scene.
*1:26 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding criminal trespass. According to the report, during an investigation, the suspect was identified and officers confirmed that the subject did have an active trespass warning for the business. Additionally, officers learned that the female had just stolen numerous items from the business and had an outstanding out of county warrant for her arrest, the report states. At the conclusion of the investigation, the subject, identified as 62-year-old Yvonne Montellano of Bangs, was arrested and charged with numerous criminal offenses including criminal trespass, theft of property and the outstanding warrant.
*2:28 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Fort Worth regarding a domestic disturbance. An investigation was begun into an incident of assault with injury by strangulation family/dating violence, the report states.
*7:34 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of 7th Street regarding a violation of a protective order. According to the report, the complainant stated that an ex-boyfriend had been texting her and indicated that he had been driving past her residence, which is a violation of a protective order issued against the suspect.
*7:41 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding unwanted persons. According to the report, two subjects were issued criminal trespass warnings for the business.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the property owner was out of state and had learned that a known subject had stolen the leads from a welder in his shop. A suspect(s) in the theft were named, the report states.
*9:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, while officers were waiting to serve a trespass warning to a suspect, asset protection associates continued to monitor the subject and observed him place items into a basket and walk past all points of sale without paying for any of the merchandise. The subject, identified as 34-year-old Lonnie Dwayne Smith, was subsequently arrested for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams. Smith was also issued the criminal trespass warning.
*26-year-old Christopher Lee Cantu turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Kimberly Rebecca Mendez on a warrant for theft over $20, under $100.
*41-year-old Oscar Webb turned himself in on a warrant related to evading arrest detention with previous conviction.
Friday, November 22
*12:15 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of U.S. Hwy 377 South regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that between 5:48 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. an unknown subject removed $400 from a prepaid card that he had purchased. An investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of missing cattle from a property located on County Road 258. According to the report, 11 head of cattle (valued at approximately $17,000)are missing from the complainant’s property. The cattle were described as Black Angus which have a 15L brand on the left hip and a yellow ear tag in the left ear, the report states. According to the complainant, nearby neighbors have also reported cattle missing.
