Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, November 21, 2011.
Friday, November 18
*Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 10th Street regarding a single vehicle accident. According to the report, the officer located a Suburban stopped and unoccupied on the south end of the block with obvious major body damage to the vehicle’s front left. The driver apparently fled the scene prior to the police arriving, the officer reported. Investigation led to a suspect being named as the driver of the wrecked vehicle.
*10:19am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Howard Payne parking lot in the 1100 -block of Fisk regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, an HPU security officer was on scene with the victim and reported to the BPD officer that his vehicle had been “keyed”.
*10:42am-Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Middle School regarding profane language being used against a BISD employee. According to the report, an aide was monitoring the hallways before the school began classes when a student began cursing her. Investigation determined that an offense had occurred and a citation for disorderly conduct was issued to the student.
Saturday, November 19
*9:25pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a hit and run in the 1500 block of Market Place Blvd. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown person struck their vehicle in the parking lot and then fled the scene without attempting to make contact.
*3:39pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a report of theft in the 1600 block of 10th Street. According to the report, communications advised that a male reported that someone stole a bicycle from the residence and a neighbor witnessed the theft. The officer took information from the victim and the neighbor regarding the incident.
*4:24pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1700 block of Avenue D. According to the report, the complainant stated that his 13-year-old daughter was assaulted on a school bus. A new student hit her on the legs, arms and face; knocking off her glasses. The incident is being followed up and officers plan to review video of the incident, according to police.
*4:34pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of W. Commerce regarding several subjects skateboarding in the parking lot of a business. According to the report, the manager of the business requested that one of the subjects, who cussed at her when she asked him to leave the premises, be issued a criminal trespass warning. The subject was located in the Texas Bank Parking lot on Clements Street where he was issued the trespass warning the report states.
*9:27pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Slayden regarding an accident which had just occurred. According to the report, the driver, identified as 28-year-old Mary Shaunda Sallee was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Sallee refused a blood sample; however a warrant was obtained and a sample of her blood was taken at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
*Brownwood Police arrested 19-year-old Jianna Chaney for Theft less than $50 and Criminal Trespass.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Crystal Hallmark for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 27-year-old Adam Hemphill of Fort Worth for Public Intoxication.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 21-year-old Savanna Beth Parsons for Disorderly Conduct.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 56-year-old Charles Westley for Driving While License Invalid.
Sunday, November 20
*12:05am-A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room in reference to an assault that occurred at Tequila Nights Bar. According to the report, the victim was transported by ambulance. A suspect has been named and charges are being filed for Assault with Injury Family Violence.
*1:03am-A Brownwood Police officer made a pedestrian stop in the 200 block of Austin Avenue which resulted in the arrest of 26-year-old Isaiah James Escamilla for public intoxication.
*2:10am-Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 1300 block of 2nd Street. According to the report, the driver identified as 35-year-old Juan David Garcia, was found to have a suspended driver’s license for surcharge due. Garcia was subsequently arrested for Driving While License Invalid.
*2:20am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Melwood in reference to an assault. The complainant stated that her daughter had been assaulted. This call led to the arrest of 27-year-old Jessica Altamirano for Aggravated Assault Date/Family/House member w/Weapon. According to police, Altamirano was involved in an altercation with her roommate during an argument and assaulted her by punching her in the face while holding her watch like brass knuckles. The suspect was found walking down a nearby street and stated that her watch had “slipped down on her hand” when the altercation was taking place, BPD officials report.
*8:41am-A Brownwood Police officer noticed 43-year-old Rudolfo Reyna standing in the parking lot of Allsup’s convenience store in the 1000 block of Coggin Avenue, attempting to talk to a woman who was pumping gas into her vehicle. The officer, aware that there was a trespass warning against Reyna for this business, confirmed the trespass warning with dispatch, then placed Reyna under arrest for criminal trespass, the report states.
*7:05pm-Brownwood Police took a report of an iPhone 3GS that had been stolen. According to the report, the complainant stated the phone was taken from her belongings while she was at Gladys Seward Park located on the 700 block of Walnut. The phone was valued at $350. Information about a possible subject was provided to the officer and the theft is under investigation.
*9:49pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center at 2601 Crockett Drive regarding vehicles that had been found with widows broken out. Investigation found two vehicles with broken out front passenger windows; however nothing was taken from either vehicle, the report states. No suspects were identified.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 20-year-old Michael Constancio and Luis Torres, both of San Angelo, each charged with Money Laundering Greater than or Equal to $1500 Less than $20,000.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 54-year-old Sheryl Dawn Scott of May for driving While Intoxicated.
Monday, November 21
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Michael Joseph Dickerson of Rising Star for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction/Suspension/ No Insurance.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
