Friday, January 8

*10:45 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Irma Street regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, an investigation determined that an ex-family member had attempted to break into the residence and threatened to kill the complainant.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

Monday, January 11

*1:32 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a service van.  According to the report, nervous behavior was detected from the driver during the stop.  The male driver eventually admitted he was a convicted felon and that he had a firearm inside of the van, the report states.  A probable cause search of the van was conducted and no firearms were located; however, the driver was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license and he consented to a search of his house to verify he did not have the gun in his vehicle, according to the report. The driver led two deputies to his residence where he revealed he had a firearm inside of the console of a personal vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence, the report states. The gun was identified as a black 9mm Sig Sauer P225; however, due to the circumstances of the gun not being located in the immediate premises of where he lived, as defined by the Texas Penal Code, the gun was confiscated as evidence and a report of the incident was taken.

*11:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding criminal mischief involving graffiti.

*12:51 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding assault family violence.

*3:40 PM – A set of keys were turned into Brownwood Police as found property.

*6:36 PM – Brownwood Police responded to a single vehicle accident in the 300 block of Coleman Street involving a vehicle striking a utility pole.  According to the report, officers arrived to find a vehicle with severe damage to the driver’s side sitting sideways in the roadway.  The female driver was transported to the hospital due to the extent of her injuries, the report states.  A warrant for the female’s arrest for driving while intoxicated 3rd will be sought at a later date according to law enforcement.

*7:26 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 800 block of Rogan Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, it was discovered that another crime had occurred, and the case of the second crime continues to be active.

*9:33 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3900 block of Crestridge Drive regarding a computer breach.  According to the report, an investigation led to a suspect being identified.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*11:40 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle near the Intersection of Highway 279 and CR 551, in Brownwood.  According to the report, during the course of the traffic stop, the deputy smelled what he recognized to be marijuana and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted.  This stop led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Mickey Ray Warren of Brownwood, for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of credit/debit card abuse.  According to the report, the complainant stated that 7 unauthorized purchases, totaling $417.29 had been made on his account.  A possible suspect was named, the report states.

*Howard Payne Department of Public Safety arrested 18-year-old Ivey Isaac James Smith III for possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.
