Law enforcement arrests and reports released January 11 & 12, 2012.

Monday, January 9

-8:29am – Brownwood police investigated the report of a burglary of a coin operated machine in the 2000 block of Brady Ave.

-The Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of illegal dumping off of County Road 225.  The deputy found several small piles of sheetrock and lumber on the side of the road.

Tuesday, January 10

-8:37am – Brownwood Police received a report of possible credit card abuse at the Walker Cancer Center at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.  An investigation was conducted.

-10:38am – A Brownwood police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Norwood Street for an expired motor vehicle inspection.  37-year-old Donrae Denice Hayes was arrested as a result of the stop for driving while license invalid.

-11:00am – Brownwood Police responded to the report of a hit & run accident in the 700 block of W. Austin Avenue.  Police stopped a suspect vehicle and arrested 22-year-old Adam Walker of Goldthwaite for driving while license invalid, according to the police report.  The report also states that an additional charge for duty upon striking fixed object is pending.

-11:36am – Brownwood Police responded to the 2600 block of Avenue C regarding theft.  The complainant stated that several subjects backed a trailer onto their property on the previous day and loaded numerous items including appliances, lawnmowers, tools, and scrap metal.  Witnesses identified the suspects and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

-12:06pm – Brownwood Police responded to a report of stolen property from a residence in the 3800 block of Countryside Drive between 12-22 and 12-27.  Suspect(s) were named by the complainant and the investigation continues.

-3:40pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Festival Park on Milam Drive in reference to a reckless driver who was reported at mudding in the park.

-6:05pm – A subject came to the Law Enforcement Center to report a found wallet.  The wallet contained debit cards, identification, cash, and various other property.  The subject found the wallet in the parking lot of CVS on Austin Avenue.  The wallet was turned into the evidence room for safe keeping until the owner can be located.

-10:40pm – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd regarding theft of a wallet.  The complainant advised the officer that her wallet was stolen.

-10:51pm – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue in reference to a theft.  The officer was advised that a shopper at the store went inside to make a purchase and when he returned noticed that his bicycle was missing.

Wednesday, January 11

-8:14am – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Center Avenue regarding theft.  The complainant reported that a former employee had stolen various tools from the business as well as a debit card.  The complainant said that he located the tools at a local pawn shop and wanted to pursue criminal charges against a named suspect.

-8:33am – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of LaMonte regarding theft.  The complainant told police that someone stole her hydrocodone prescription at WalMart.

-11:38am – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center regarding theft.  The complainant stated that someone stole her dog.

-11:48pm – Brownwood Police responded to the 2800 block of Coggin regarding the report of theft.   The complainant told police that someone stole his iPhone 3GS from the Bennie Houston Community Center.

-Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Thomas Ray Berry for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 and Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

-Early Police arrested 25-year-old Tommy Morales for Driving While License Suspended.

Thursday, January 12

-1:00am – Brownwood Police responded to Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding theft.  The victim told police that a suspect stole her iPhone.

-1:09am – Brownwood Police responded to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding criminal mischief.  A complainant reported that a suspect broke out a window in an apartment.

-5:00am – Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an assault of an inmate in the Brown County Jail by another inmate. 

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
