Wednesday, October 27

*3:35pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of W. Commerce regarding a civil matter.  A complainant stated that his mother had been cheated out of $1500.  According to the report, the mother frequented a bar which had 8-liner machines.  She had accumulated approximately $1500 in store credit from the machines, to be spent at the bar; however did not choose to purchase items at that time the report states.  The bar had since been closed down without giving the man’s mother any notice and the manager had since taken a job at another bar according to the complainant.  The officer told the man that the matter should be taken before a civil court.

Friday, October 29

*7:24pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace regarding criminal mischief.  The complainant stated that a window at the rear of his apartment had been broken.  According to the report, the complainant had been on the front porch, heard a crash and went to the rear of the apartment to find the window broken and a baseball nearby.  The report states the complainant had seen some juveniles fleeing from the back area of the apartments.  He felt that the incident was an accident; however he needed the officer to make a report so he would not be charged by the Brownwood Housing Authority for the damage the report states.

Saturday, October 30

*12:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Belle Plain regarding an assault.  Upon the officer’s arrival, the complainant stated that her estranged husband had assaulted her by pushing her nearly to the floor, took their 6-month-old son and left the residence.  The complainant wished to file assault charges against her estranged husband the report states.

Sunday, October 31

*1:36am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Avenue D regarding a burglary of a habitation.  According to the report the complainant stated that someone had entered the home and stolen an undetermined amount of money.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

Monday, November 1

*10:06pm-A Brownwood Police officer noticed a man who was known to the officer as having a suspended driver’s license.  According to the report a traffic stop was made and the male, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Lee Dean was arrested for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.  The report states that a female passenger was issued a citation for open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
