Monday, November 17
*1:03 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Davis Lane regarding theft. According to the report, jewelry was stolen from the residence. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*10:54 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1400 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a building. According to the report, the complainant stated that their storage building located on Belle Plain had been broken into and items taken by an unknown suspect. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
Tuesday, November 18
*2:32 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a property on County Road 347 regarding the theft of a dirt bike (motorcycle).
*4:19 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of 4th Street regarding trespassing. This call led to the arrest of 38-year-old David Tucknott of Brownwood for trespassing at a residence in the area, the report states.
*5:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Center Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, an unknown suspect stole tools belonging to the Lyric Theatre and pawned them at Wild Bill’s Pawn Shop.*6:37 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Shamrock Drive regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that a relative had given her “unwanted physical contact.”
*9:01 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Avenue E regarding public intoxication. This call led to the arrest of 51-year-old Anita Marie Valdez of Brownwood for public intoxication.
*11:15 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence at Ennis Drive regarding an ongoing disagreement. According to the report, the complainant stated that he believed a known subject had taken his pet Chihuahua from his motor home while he was away during the day. The suspect was contacted and denied having the dog, the report states.
*27-year-old Christopher Lee Cantu of Brownwood turned himself in on warrants related to assault causes bodily injury and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested 27-year-old Abraham Dancy of Santa Anna on four warrants related to surety withdrawals and theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check. Dancy was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $22,500.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 40-year-old Kathy Ferguson of Brownwood on warrants related to failure to appear and no driver’s license.
*Early Police arrested 50-year-old Gary Wayne Laird of Brownwood on a warrant related to the burglary of a vehicle. According to Early Chief of Police David Mercer, officers investigated a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 100 block of Early Blvd. on Saturday, November 15th. The employee of a business came outside to his vehicle and observed someone in his vehicle going through his personal items, reported Mercer. The victim attempted to pursue the suspect but lost him in the dark, the report states. Officers were able to later identify the suspect as Laird from Brownwood and attempted to locate him that night at his residence and other locations, the report states. On Tuesday, November 18, EPD Detective Mike McCoy was able to obtain a warrant for Laird for motion to revoke for burglary of motor vehicle, Mercer explained. Laird was recently charged with burglary of motor vehicle on several counts in Brownwood and Early, according to Mercer. McCoy will be requesting felony theft warrants against Laird with enhancements from 2 previous convictions for the burglary on Saturday the 15th, said Mercer. The felony charges will be filed in the near future. Early Police Department officers
arrested Laird at his home in Brownwood at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday night and booked him into the Brown County Jail. Laird is also a suspect in another car burglary in the 100 block of Meadow Glen on the same night, said Mercer.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Jason Ray Traweek of Brownwood for assault family violence.
