Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday and Friday, November 17-18, 2011.
Monday, November 14
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Devan Wayne Vogel for Driving While License Invalid and No Insurance.
Wednesday, November 16
*9:22am-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired registration sticker. This traffic stop resulted in the driver being issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While License Invalid and No Insurance.
*11:19am-Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center who reported money had been stolen from her purse at the Wal-Mart parking lot on Sunday, November 13th around 2:00pm.
Thursday, November 17
*12:01am-Brownwood Police were called to the area of Avenue C and Hwy 377S. The officer on the call had responded to a report of a runaway juvenile on Wednesday 11/16 who was later located and released to his parents. Information was later learned that the juvenile had been involved in a hit and run accident during which he was struck by a pickup truck that fled the scene. The juvenile received treatment at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. The suspect vehicle has not been located.
*7:08pm-Brownwood Police responded a burglary of a vehicle at 1070 W. Commerce, the Oasis Bar. The victim advised that someone had broken into her pickup truck while she was in a business meeting. She had parked the vehicle at approximately 6:10pm and noticed the damage when she returned an hour later.
*8:47pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Willis Street regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that while his daughter was driving in the 1400 block of Avenue K, a pick-up truck attempted to pass her and struck the front fender of the complainant’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle drove away without stopping to render aid. The complainant’s daughter was able to get the license plate number and provided it to the officers. At the time of the report, the driver of the vehicle is unknown. The complainant does wish to pursue charges.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
