Friday, November 7
*8:49 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd. regarding theft. According to the report, store management advised the officer of two subjects who were observed stealing merchandise from the store.
*8:55 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Davis Lane regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle had been damaged during the night and the incident was witnessed by other subjects in the area. The complainant wished to file criminal charges, according to the report.
*12:47 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Vine Street regarding the theft of jewelry from a residence.
*2:06 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Magnolia Street regarding marijuana being smoked in a parking lot. Several subjects were located in a vehicle in the parking lot that had a strong odor of marijuana, the report states. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Brandon Dale Ard of Channel View, Texas, was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*2:47 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding forgery/counterfeiting. According to the report, the complainant stated that his checkbook had been stolen in Coleman County and numerous checks had been passed in both Coleman and Brown Counties. The complainant advised that a report had also been filed with Santa Anna Police Department, the report states.
*3:28 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Slayden Street regarding the theft of a cell phone.
*5:47 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft. According to the report, two riding lawnmowers and one push mower, valued at $610 were stolen from a residence on Santa Clara Drive.
*7:30 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding theft of property. According to the report, subjects left the store without paying for merchandise after a debit card was declined. A description of the suspects was obtained and a report was filed at the request of management.
*10:54 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of Bluffview regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a female subject informed officers she was assaulted by her husband. The investigation led to the arrest of 43-year-old Dung Huu Nguyen for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence near Lake Brownwood regarding a possible suicidal subject who had locked himself in his shed by the house. According to the report, the complainant stated that the subject, her husband, had pulled on her hair and raised his hand as if he was going to hit her during a verbal argument. During an investigation, the deputy deemed it necessary to get the victim away from the address for her safety, the report states. The suspect was never contacted, due to his agitated state according to the deputy’s report; however, an assault family violence report was filed out.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 279 near CR 135 for speeding 78 mph in a 60 mph zone. According to the report, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 46-year-old Eva Pesina Ortega of Brownwood, was suspected of driving drunk. Ortega failed a series of field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated 2nd, the report states. Ortega was also charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3, after a prescription bottle was located in her purse which contained acetaminophen & hydrocodone bitartrate 325mg/7.5mg, for which she did not have a prescription, according to the deputy’s report.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the burglary of a building. According to the report, the complainant stated that a lock had been removed from her storage unit and was replaced with another lock. A Snap On rollaway tool box with a stack on chest and hand tools, a small four-wheeler, and a go-kart were stolen during the burglary, the report states.
*Early Police arrested 42-year-old Rosetta Ivery of Brownwood for theft of services equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*Brownwood Police arrested 33-year-old Benjamin Johnston of Burnet on warrants related to aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact.
*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old Elijah Ray Jones of Brownwood on a warrant related to no motorcycle endorsement, operate unregistered motor vehicle and failure to appear.
*32-year-old Justin Dale Mason of Bangs turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.
*53-year-old Gary Wayne Morris of Santa Anna turned himself in on warrants for surety withdrawals related to possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug.
Saturday, November 8
*2:02 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of E. Commerce Street regarding a possible incident of driving while intoxicated. Dispatch advised that a female in a vehicle which was in the drive-through appeared to be intoxicated. The female driver, identified as Kellee Greenwood of Brownwood, had a strong odor of alcohol on her person, was very unsteady on her feet and failed several field sobriety tests, according to the police report. Greenwood was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
*2:52 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a suspicious call. This call led to the arrest of 23-year-old Whitney Bernard Williams, Jr. on charges of public intoxication.
*10:50 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on FM 2125 in regarding a burglary which had occurred the previous day. The complainant advised that two rings and $1,000 cash were stolen from a bedside table by a known female. The complainant wished to pursue charges against the suspect for burglary.
*2:01 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Lane Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, an Xbox 360 had been taken during the incident.
*2:13 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Cleburne Street regarding the theft of dog food.
*3:10 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4400 block of Mimosa Street regarding the theft of medication and money from a residence in the area. Possible suspects have been named; however, the investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*5:20 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on FM 2559 regarding the burglary of a habitation. The complainant advised sometime between November 6th and November 8th, an unknown person entered his deer camp house and stole a Sony Shake System stereo valued at $2000, approximately $100 of meat from the freezer, and a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka valued at $25.
*9:43 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 6th Street and Avenue K. According to the report, during the stop, the driver, 20-year-old Taylor Smith of Brownwood, appeared to be nervous as the officer spoke to her. Consent was given to search the vehicle and marijuana was found in Smith’s purse and in the passenger seat, the report states. Smith was charged with possession of marijuana equal or less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
*10:57 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Morris Sheppard Drive regarding speeding. According to the report, the vehicle was clocked on the officer’s radar going 58 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. This stop led to the arrest of 31-year-old Nicholas Shade Salinas of Brownwood for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Early Police arrested 27-year-old Charla Denise Boenicke and 27-year-old David Ortiz Martinez, Jr., both of Brownwood for public lewdness.
*Early Police arrested 31-year-old Sandra Nadia Sanchez of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.
Sunday, November 9
*12:22 AM – Brownwood Police made a pedestrian stop in the area of 2nd Street and Avenue G. According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of a juvenile for possession of alcohol by a minor.
*1:20 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Tulane Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the suspect had already left the scene and the victim gave a statement which led to an active case being opened for the offense of interference with an emergency call.
*2:05 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4400 block of South US Hwy 377 regarding an assault. According to the report, three men were outside of the Gate One Inn drinking, when one of the men suddenly violently beat another in his face with both fists. Both of the men did not speak English and a Spanish speaking officer was able to translate their comments, the reports state. Officers reported that it was evident that the men involved in the physical altercation were both very heavily intoxicated as evidenced by the smell of alcohol on their breath as well as the empty cases of beer cans strewn about the area. The victim had lacerations, bruising and blood on his face and possibly a broken right hand and broken fingers, the report states. The male aggressor, identified as 37-year-old Francisco Sanchez a citizen of Mexico, had no visible injuries which gave the officer evidence to believe the victim did not attack him in any way, the report states. During the investigation, the officer was told by the victim that Sanchez had also stated he was going to kill him, the report states. Sanchez was arrested and charged with assault and terroristic threat, the report states.
*3:39 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 334 in Blanket, regarding the theft of a motor vehicle. The complainant stated that a known subject was to have returned a pickup truck to her on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, and now refuses to do so.
*4:16 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of 2nd Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that some unknown suspects had entered into her house and stole a television from the residence.
*8:01 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lackey Street regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant’s ex-husband has been harassing her via Facebook. The complainant stated that her ex-husband had created “spoof accounts” on Facebook and was pretending to be the complainant and her fiancée, the report states. The suspect was not available for an interview during the investigation, according to police.
*10:12 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Avenue D regarding an assault. According to the report, the caller stated that she had been assaulted by a male subject over the weekend and wished to pursue charges. This led to an incident of family violence by strangulation being documented, the report states.
*11:40 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Coggin Avenue regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, a male subject chased a female subject from CVS to Dominoes, assaulting her and then dragging her into a passenger vehicle, which headed southbound on Coggin Avenue toward 377. The caller followed the vehicle to the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue where police interviewed both the victim and the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Brandyn Spears of Brownwood. Although both parties denied the incident, through evidence and witness accounts, it was determined a disturbance and assault had occurred, the report states. The calls led to the arrest of Spears for resist arrest, search or transport and interfere with public duties.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Cody Croft of Coleman for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 23-year-old Jesse Estrada of Coleman for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and on a Tom Green County warrant for driving while license invalid with previous suspension without financial responsibility.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 21-year-old Nicolette Lanham of Coleman for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*A Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden arrested 21-year-old Carlos Rojas of Early for public intoxication.
