Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, November 10, 2010.

Thursday, November 4

*2:47pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Oak regarding the burglary of a habitation.  The complainant stated that a tool box along with its contents, valued at $800, had been stolen from the front room of his residence.  There were no signs of forced entry into the residence.  The complainant wishes to pursue charges if suspect(s) are identified.  

Sunday, November 7

*3:54pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 3700 block of Savoy regarding a male who had been slumped over in his vehicle for over an hour.  The officer made contact with the male and after investigation arrested him for possession of Methamphetamine, a controlled substance, penalty grade 1, less than 1g and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.

Monday, November 8

*10:54am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Brady Avenue regarding criminal mischief at a local business.  The complainant located several holes from rocks in the Masonite siding of the business.  Damage to the property was estimated to be approximately $500.

*1:10pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to a vehicle crash in the 1600 block of N 377 frontage road.  While investigating the crash, the officer learned that the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash had fled the scene on foot.  The owner of the at-fault vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Lucy Angelita Alvarado, told officers that she was the driver the police report states.  Alvarado was then arrested for False Report to a Police Officer.  There was no information on the actual driver of the vehicle at the time of the report.

*1:36pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of W. Commerce where several storage buildings were burglarized.  The complainant stated that locks had been cut off of several storage units.  The officer found 19 units that had locks which had been cut.  Contact was made with the owners of the units.  Items found to be missing were some rusted shovels, pitchforks, and an antique black clock.  No suspects were listed but the investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, November 9

*7:49pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Cordell Street regarding an unwanted female.  According to the report, a known subject continually came to the complainant’s residence and was harassing him. 

*11:13pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue A regarding an assault.  The complainant stated that her husband, 26-year-old Melvin Lee Lewis twisted and squeezed her wrist in the McDonald’s parking lot and she believed it was broken.  Melvin Lewis was then arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*Early Police arrested 22-year-old Stetson Lee Spearman on charges of No Driver’s License, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and two outstanding warrants.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by a local man who reported that his tenants of a rent house he owned had stolen a refrigerator, chest freezer, television and a riding lawn mower.  The value of the items was estimated to be approximately $2,250.  Suspect information was given to the deputy along with a phone number to contact them.  When contact was made with the suspects, they stated that they still had the items and would return them; however, they stated that the landlord had told them they could get rid of the furniture.  When this was reported back to the landlord, he stated that he did give permission for the tenants to get rid of the beds in the home, but not the appliances or the riding lawn mower.  Criminal charges are being filed by the landlord.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
