Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Tuesday, October 6
*11:24 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a property on County Road 477 regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had broken into his home and stole a television, mobile air conditioning unit, and a power inverter. The offense was believed to have occurred between 1:30 p.m. October 2nd and 11:15 p.m. on October 7th.
Wednesday, October 7
*5:41 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding theft of property. According to the report, a dirt bike was found.
*9:04 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a business on E. US Hwy 377 in Early regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, an unknown person had damaged an ATV.
*10:30 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Good Shepherd for theft. According to the report, the complainant stated someone stole his string trimmer. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.*11:18 AM – Early Police were called to the Early High School Wednesday morning regarding an intoxicated person. According to the responding officer’s report, students had noticed their teacher, 45-year-old Kelly Donaho of Early, acting strange in class and they were concerned. Donaho had blood shot eyes, a slight odor of alcoholic beverage and was unsteady on his feet when the officer arrived, the report states. Donaho stated that he is a diabetic and that he did not feel well, that his blood sugar was elevated; however, results of a blood sugar check by Early Volunteer Fire Department and the school nurse did not indicate a level high enough to cause him to appear intoxicated, the report states. Because Donaho wished to leave, would not submit to a sobriety test and was possibly a danger to himself and others if he drove, he was arrested and charged with public intoxication, the report states.
*12:40 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of a sex offender who had failed to comply with his duty to register. A warrant is being sought for the suspect’s failure to comply with his duties and requirements, the report states.
*1:19 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Oak Point Drive regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that two barbeque pits, a 4-wheeler and a small trailer were taken from the property. A possible suspect was named.
*1:32 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of N. Main Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, items stolen included a debit card and $280 in cash.
*3:52 PM – Brownwood Police met a local restaurant owner at the law enforcement center regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, outdoor security cameras had been destroyed or damaged.
*4:20 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s investigator’s received information during a narcotics investigation that suspect 57-year-old Celeste Reedy Wells of Early would be transporting a large amount of methamphetamine. According to the probable cause affidavit, a vehicle description was given and deputies were able to locate the vehicle when it drove through the parking lot at 300 East Commerce Street several times. The driver of the vehicle committed two traffic offenses and a traffic stop was initiated, the affidavit states. The driver and the passenger, identified as Wells, showed signs of nervousness and consent to search the vehicle but not the contents, was given according to the deputy who called in the K-9 officer, the affidavit states. As the K-9 was en route, Wells decided to surrender a large bag of crystalline substance weighing 14.3 grams and which field tested positive for methamphetamine, the affidavit states. After being placed into custody, Wells advised the methamphetamine was hers and that she had more at her residence on Salt Creek Drive in Early, the affidavit states. Wells surrendered additional 20.1 grams, according to the affidavit. Wells was charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams in a drug free zone. The driver was released from the scene according to the affidavit.
*4:31 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Main Street regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, the officer could hear loud music from the roadway as he pulled into the apartment complex. This call led to the arrest of 51-year-old Albert Joe Duffie and 57-year-old Vincent Hugh Monson, both of Brownwood, for disorderly conduct abusive/profane language. Duffie was additionally charged with disorderly conduct by loud music.
*7:40 PM – A Brownwood Police officer was assaulted during a welfare check on a male subject, identified as 22-year-old Jamie C. Hernandez of Brownwood. While the officer was talking with Hernandez in the living room of his residence, Hernandez kept asking the officer to remove his duty belt, which the officer refused to do because of departmental policy and because it was a part of his uniform, the report states. Hernandez became agitated and tried to strike the officer in the face; however, the officer blocked Hernandez’s hand and a short physical altercation ensued, according to the report. The officer called dispatch to inform them that he was engaged in a fight with Hernandez, who was attempting to grab the officer’s handgun, the officer reported. The officer was able to get Hernandez to release his grasp on the gun and placed him into handcuffs, according to the report. A witness provided a statement regarding the incident, the report states. Hernandez was arrested and charged with assault on a public servant and taking or attempting to take weapon from an officer.
*9:10 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Houston Street regarding an assault. According to the report, no arrests were made at the time of the call; however, a report for assault family violence was taken.
*30-year-old Joe Cruz Alvarado of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to failure to appear/theft of property greater than $20 less than $500 by check enhanced.
*Early Police arrested 28-year-old Jessie Ball on charges of unlawful restraint.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old William Chad Daughterty of May on warrants related to criminal mischief less than $2500/game animal fence and unauthorized use of vehicle.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Joe Johnson of Abilene a warrant related to a parole violation.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 18-year-old Adrian Michael Vela of Brownwood on a warrant related to public intoxication.
Thursday, October 8
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 26-year-old Richard Lynn Andrews of Brownwood for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information number of items less than 5 and tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair.
