LECSmBrownwood Police were dispatched to the area under the Truman Harlow Overpass Tuesday afternoon regarding two men fighting, which led to the arrest of one for the stabbing of the other.  Witnesses saw the two men fighting in a field and called police, the police report states. 
According to the report, at approximately 2:20pm, the victim stated he had been walking when the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Frederick Benson, started chasing and threatening to kill him.  Witnesses stated they saw Benson punch the victim in the mouth as they drove by, the report states.  The victim showed officers his back, which had a half inch stab wound just left of his spine which was bleeding, according to the report.  Guardian EMS was called to evaluate the victim’s wounds.   The wound was not life threatening according to officials.

Investigation determined that the stab wound matched the description of the knife given by the victim.  The police report states that the weapon used was found in Benson’s left pocket.

Benson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Monday, October 29

*1:38pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of US Hwy 377S regarding forgery.  According to the report, the bank representative and the complainant provided copies of forged checks and electronic check transactions totaling over $850.00.  The transactions took place between October 4th and 16th, the report states. Suspect information has been provided and the case is currently under investigation according to police.

*3:24pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding a young child wandering around the complex unsupervised.  According to the report, the 2-year-old child had been returned to her mother who was currently under investigation by Child Protective Services regarding a similar incident.  Both incidents are being further investigated by CPS, the report states.

*4:19pm-Brownwood Police were called to the1800 block of 1st Street regarding the theft of a bicycle from outside of a residence.

Tuesday, October 30

*7:37am-Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of Rogan Street, the Brownwood Intermediate School, regarding a fight on the bus between two students.  According to the report, both juveniles were cited for disruption of transportation and disorderly conduct (fighting).

*11:08am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Avenue D regarding terroristic threat.  According to the report, a known male subject had stolen $50 from the complainant’s residence.  Contact was made with the male subject and his girlfriend who wished to report a terroristic threat from the original complainant.

*5:35pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4400 block of Westridge regarding an unwanted subject.  According to the report, after speaking with the subjects involved, it was determined that a possible domestic violence incident had taken place and it was documented.

*6:57pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Waco Street regarding the theft of medication.  According to the report, the complainant stated that between October 25th and 30th, someone had stolen some of his cancer medication.

*8:29pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Roselawn Street regarding a juvenile problem.  According to the report, the officer arrived to find a large group of juveniles standing in the 1100 block of Roselawn.  As the officer approached the group, he noticed a male, identified as 17-year-old Dustin Evans, begin to conceal items in his clothing, the report states.  Evans then walked away at a very quick pace, according to the report.  After making contact with Evans, 2 pipes with residue and a “dugout” filled with marijuana were found on Evans’ person, according to police.  Evans was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.

*10:29pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop for a defective tail lamp in the area of 4th Street and Avenue K.  According to the report, the stop led to the arrest of 18-year-old Trevolia Rudd for possession of marijuana and a citation being issued to a juvenile for possession of tobacco.

Wednesday, October 31

*12:19am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Main Street regarding a civil standby.   According to the report, while speaking with the complainant, the officer found that the female complainant had been threatened by her estranged husband.

*1:18am-Brownwood Police were called to the 3400 block of Durham Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance between a mother and son.  According to the report, the son had been smoking K2 and this was the basis of the argument.  The son, identified as 19-year-old Tyler Edwards, admitted to smoking K2 (synthetic marijuana) and some was located in his possession at the time of police questioning him, the report states.  Edwards was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2A less than 2 ounces.

*2:20am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Avenue E regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, a witness observed three males looking into a vehicle in the area.  Upon checking the area, the vehicle was found to have been broken into and a purse stolen.  The purse and its contents were located and returned to the owner.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 38-year-old Debbie Henry of Comanche for driving while intoxicated, prohibited substance in a correctional facility, and tamper/fabricate physical evidence.
*Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Dustin Jered Evans for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia.
