Monday, October 18

*9:00am-A Brownwood Police officer, while on duty at Brownwood High School, was approached by a student regarding his laptop computer having been stolen.  An investigation began and a suspect was identified.  The laptop was recovered from the suspect’s residence and returned to the owner.  The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges have been requested by the complainant.

Tuesday, October 19

*Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Main Blvd. regarding theft of water.  City employees stated that a residence in the area was illegally connected to the city water system and that the City wished to pursue charges.

*4:30am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding the theft of a case of beer.

Thursday, October 21

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office met with employees of Victory Life Academy regarding a subject that has been entering a class room without permission during non-working hours.  Officers gathered evidence and are investigating the incident.

Friday, October 22

*10:02am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on CR 603 in reference to a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.  The complainant left her purse in the unlocked vehicle over night.  Items stolen were the purse and a matching wallet, a bottle of prescription medication, a check book and debit card on the account, Social Security card, driver’s license, a birth certificate, a credit card, a Lone Star Card, library card, a silver ladies ring and an unknown amount of change.

*10:59am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce to a local check cashing business in reference to forgery.

*2:27pm-Brownwood Police received a report of forgery.  According to the report, a complainant noted that several checks on his bank account had been forged.  An investigation is ongoing.

*5:59pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Brady Avenue regarding Assault.  Investigation on the incident determined that an assault occurred involving a male victim in the 3600 block of 3rd Street on October 20th.  Two suspects have been identified; however, no arrests had been made as of the time of the report.

*10:59pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to call regarding the burglary of a residence.  The victim who owns the property stated that the burglary happened in the last three weeks and that the property is his summer home.  The owner had planned to stay the night at the property, but when he went to enter the property, the door was already open and it showed signs of a forcible entry.  Nothing appeared to be missing according to the owner, but he did want to press charges if a suspect could be located.  It appeared the only thing out of order was the sheets on the bed as if someone had broken in and slept in the bed the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of phone harassment.  The complainant stated that they have been receiving calls from an “Officer Kevin” requesting that the complainant call as a reference for a third party.  The caller states that the third party’s name, which happens to be the victim’s employer, and asks for the complainant’s social security number.

Saturday, October 23

*12:48am-Brownwood Police made traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1800 block of Brady which led to the arrest of the driver, 19-year-old Luis Mendoza Leal for Driving While Intoxicated.

*Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room.  Police reports state that when officers arrived, ER staff stated that an intoxicated male was extremely agitated and wanted to leave.  The man, identified as 19-year-old Alex Rodriguez, had been in a motor vehicle accident and had been brought to the ER for treatment of minor injuries.  Reports state that as Rodriguez was trying to leave the ER, he pulled a knife in an attempt to remove his IV and blood pressure cuff that were on his arms.   Rodriguez ran from the ER and was stopped by police units a short distance from the ER.  Rodriguez was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Driving While Intoxicated.

*8:00am-Brownwood Police received a report of a car being keyed.  The complainant stated he would pursue charges.

*11:09am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of Slayden regarding a citizens’ dispute in the roadway.  A report was filed for Assault, Threat or Offensive Touch and Disorderly Conduct.

*2:46pm-Police reports state that a Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle which was displaying an expired registration.

The driver told police that he did not have a Texas drivers license and that the car belonged to a friend that lived down the road from him.  The driver told the officer that his name was Luis Rivera and stated his date of birth the report states.

Dispatch found record for a Luis Rivera Cintron and had given the officer certain identifying marks that matched the subject confirming his identity reports state.   Cintron was placed under arrest for Driving while License Invalid.

Reports state that while en route to the jail, Cintron kicked out the back passenger side window of the patrol unit and fled on foot near the intersection of Austin Avenue and Coggin.  The officer brought the patrol car to a stop; however the street was wet causing him to slide into a curb, damaging the front left wheel of the patrol unit.  The officer chased him on foot through a few business parking lots then into a residential area where he lost sight of the suspect.   A report was filed for Escape While Arrested/Confined, Criminal Mischief greater than or equal to $500 and less than $1500, Evading Arrest/Detention, Theft greater than or equal $50 less than $500, Failure to Identify and Driving While License Invalid.  Police officials state that a warrant is being sought for his arrest on the charges.

*11:45pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3200 block of Morris Shepherd Dr. for failing to signal a left turn.  Police reports state that after investigation, it was determined that the driver, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Lee Dean, was operating the vehicle with a suspended drivers license and had no proof of insurance.  Dean was arrested for Driving While License Invalid/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Fletcher Nathaniel Liggin II for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Sunday, October 24

*1:07am-A Brownwood Police Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 block of Coggin.  The stop resulted in the arrest of the driver, 51-year-old Walter Kitchens of Cross Plains for Driving While Intoxicated, third or more.

*1:09am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue B regarding shots being fired.  Upon arrival, officers noted a man in an alleyway near the 1400 block Avenue B.  Police reports state that the suspect, later identified as 17-year-old Kevin Ryan Cantu, fled on foot when he saw the patrol vehicles.  Cantu was apprehended and charged with Evading Arrest/Detention.

*7:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace regarding a fire call.  The complainant stated that she had seen four male juveniles flee the scene after they had started a large fire.  While investigating the incident, two juveniles were listed as suspects in this arson case.

*9:45pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to investigate an assault which had occurred in the 1500 block of 2nd Street.  An investigation led to the arrest of 18-year-old Gary Leo Allison III for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Michel Dale Bebee for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and Purchase/Furnish Alcohol to a Minor.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Michelle Jacquelyn Burleson for Public Intoxication.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 57-year-old Carol Ravelletts for Public Intoxication.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
