Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, October 21, 2011.

Wednesday, October 19

*8:46am-A Brownwood Police officer while on duty at Brownwood High School on October 18th received a phone call from a staff member that there had been a fight in the student center of the school.  According to the report, the officer reviewed the tape, he determined that the time of the fight was 2:47pm and that two male students were involved as he observed them actively fighting on the tape as he could see them swinging and striking each other in the head, face and upper torso.  The students were separated by another student, the report states.  When the students returned to school Wednesday morning, they were located and investigation determined that they were both fighting.  The two juveniles were issued citations for Disorderly Conduct-Fighting and given school discipline of 10 days of In School Suspension.

Thursday, October 20

* 8:38am-Brownwood Police received a report from a City of Brownwood employee that he had noticed four street signs that had been struck.  These damaged signs also included the flashing school zone sign at 1500 Indian Creek.  The employee also stated that the signs all had paint transfer on them and he estimated to repair the signs would cost approximately $1000.

 

*12:10pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of N. Main, Family Dollar Store, where a man had defecated in the back part of the store.  The man was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for the business.

*8:45pm-Brownwood Police received a report of subjects on the roof of Brownwood Middle School, 1600 Calvert Road.  According to the report, a janitor could hear people walking on the north side of the roof.   While officers were walking around the building a man in a pickup stated that the subjects the officers were looking for had thrown something off the roof toward him.  The two officers then accessed the roof and walked to the north side of the roof where they found 18-year-old Nicholas Calvin Bennie and 18-year-old Darren James Ridley hiding behind an air conditioning unit.  Both Bennie and Ridley were arrested for Criminal Trespass.

*11:40pm-A Brownwood Police Officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed near the area of Third Street and Avenue E.  The driver, identified as 44-year-old Printis Dominguez, performed standard field sobriety tests poorly and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, according to the report.  A warrant was signed to obtain a blood sample from Dominguez and the blood sample was obtained, the report states.

Friday, October 21

*2:01am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Borden Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the complainant stated she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, Kenneth Joe Smith,  and that he had just assaulted her.  She told police that when she said she was going to call the police, Smith ran out the back door of the residence and fled the scene, the report states.  Investigation led to the arrest of Smith for Assault with Injury Family Violence.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
