Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, October 20, 2011.

Tuesday, October 18

*1:32pm-Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance in progress.  According to the report, an investigation led to the arrest of 19-year-old Gregory Lee Williamson for Criminal Mischief $50-$500 and Assault by Touch Family Member.

Wednesday, October 19

*11:33am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Fisk Avenue regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she noticed her pickup had been hit by another vehicle while it was parked.  The complainant stated that she did not know who may have caused the damage to the pickup, the report states.

*12:52pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview.  The responding officer met with a Child Protective Services worker for an agency assist.  This call led to the arrest of 21-year-old James Simmons for Terroristic Threat and Criminal Mischief $50-$500.  According to police, CPS was present to conduct an investigation and Simmons began destroying the apartment by punching holes in the walls.  Prior to officers’ arrival, Simmons left the scene; however had pulled back into the apartment complex parking lot and was spinning his pickup’s tires and then entered another parking lot at a reckless rate of speed nearly hitting a parked vehicle, the report states.  Simmons was very angry, breathing heavy and was yelling and cussing, according to police.  He stated he was angry because CPS was trying to take his son.  Due to Simmons’ wife being arrested recently, CPS was investigating the home, the report states.  During the investigation, the CPS worker had left the apartment because of Simmons becoming enraged and stated that he heard Simmons tell his mother that he would “kill him” and that he would “kick his …(explicative),” according to the report.  The manager of the apartment complex was notified and after assessing the damage, estimated it would take approximately $320 to repair the damage throughout the apartment.  According to police, the grandmother and child then were taken to  CPS to arrange for the grandmother to take temporary custody of the child.

*6:06pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, the asset protection employee stated that she observed a female pass the last point of sale without attempting to pay for some items.  Officers issued the female suspect a citation for theft less than $50 and a criminal trespass warning.

*8:05pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject stole her debit card, an MP3 player, and a Nintendo Wii sensor on October 18th.

*5:36pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Fisk Avenue, Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods, regarding theft.  According to the report, an employee noticed several empty hangers in the Under Armour section of the store.  Upon reviewing the store’s surveillance video, she observed an unknown white male take 3 Under Armour shirts and place them into his pants, the report states.

Thursday, October 20

*Early Police Department arrested 61-year-old Timmy Howard Dickey of Early for Public Intoxication.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Amanda Leticia Zapata for Driving While Intoxicated.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
