Wednesday, October 1
*Brown County Sheriff’s investigators received information regarding a wanted fugitive who was at a residence on Booker Street in Brownwood. According to an affidavit for the arrest, 24-year-old Danielle Michelle Wells of Brownwood was wanted for two motion to revoke warrants related to theft and driving while license invalid. Investigators knocked on the door and were initially told that Wells was not present, and then the person answering the door pointed to a bedroom in the house, the report states. Another woman, identified as 29-year-old Anna Jeanette Coffey of Brownwood was in this bedroom lying on the bed.
There was an adjoining room next to this room, and when investigators attempted to enter it, someone was holding the door, the report states. The door was pushed open and Wells was backed into a closet, which she refused to come out, according to the affidavit. Wells resisted arrest and was physically pulled out of the closet by two deputies, the affidavit states. Both Coffey and Wells were wearing their pajamas at the time of the arrest according to the affidavit.
When deputies were checking the bed for weapons, they located a glasses case which contained a glass smoking pipe with methamphetamine residue, according to the affidavit. A consent search of bags located in the bedroom led to the discovery of two plastic baggies and one scoop straw containing suspected methamphetamine residue in a bag which belonged to Coffey and a “dope kit” with three hypodermic syringes, a spoon, a scoop straw, and a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue in a bag which belonged to Wells, the report states. Wells was arrested for the warrants and for resisting arrest according to BCSO officials. Coffey and Wells were each charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*6:51 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce where they arrested a subject at a local motel, identified as 32-year-old Kenny Edward Slaughter of Brownwood, on a warrant related to the burglary of a building. According to the report, a large sum of money was stolen from the Red Wagon during the burglary.
*8:58 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1200 block of 8th Street regarding a warrant service. According to the report, Katherine Leeann Edwards turned herself in on the warrant.
*9:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of 5th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, there were 4 check booklets stolen during the incident.
*9:34 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of an alleged incident of indecency with a child by sexual contact from a complainant at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Katherine Leanne Edwards of Brownwood on a warrant related to duty on striking fixture.
*19-year-old Christian Xavier Garcia of Brownwood was arrested on a Tom Green County warrant related to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Garcia was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of a $60,000 bond.
*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Shayla Marie Oliver of Brownwood for possession of a dangerous drug and theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $1500.
Thursday, October 2
*Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Brady Avenue regarding the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter had stolen her Ford pickup.
