Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, October 19, 2011.

Monday, October 17

*10:39am-Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding a burglary.  The complainant stated that her home had been broken into and several items were removed from her apartment.  A possible suspect was listed by the complainant, the report states.  When officers made contact with the suspect, the missing property was found; however the suspect stated that the complainant had given the items to her over the last two to three weeks, according to the report.  The property was returned to the complainant who wished to pursue charges against the suspect for burglary of a habitation.

*11:47am-Brownwood Police received a report from a complainant regarding harassment.  Although no charges are being pursued, the complainant did wish to file a report against the known suspect, the report states.

* 5:17pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of C. C. Woodson Road regarding theft at a convenience store.  According to the report, the clerk told the officer that a man pumped gas that another customer had prepaid for and then drove off.  According to the report, the officer spoke with the customer who stated that the man distracted her by asking if she saw the elephant outside the circus at the coliseum, then told her the pump had stopped.  She started to put the nozzle up and the man told her to hand him the nozzle.  She then went to her car to see if any gas had pumped at all and then called her mother to come see if she had done anything wrong.  When her mother arrived, the male was leaving, headed toward the coliseum, the report states.  The officer spoke with the clerk who said that the male had come into the store and asked her why she didn’t stop the pump at $20, he had pumped $20.51.  He then got a 6-pack of beer which he paid for and then left the store without saying anything to the clerk about the gas he had pumped.  The officer was advised that the male was a regular at the store and that management did wish to pursue charges for theft, the report states.  Surveillance video will be provided to police as evidence.

Tuesday, October 18

*2:13pm-A Brownwood Police officer while on duty at Brownwood High School heard what appeared to be yelling and turned to see a large crowd of students  in the student center forming a circle to watch a fight.  According to the report, when the officer reached the circle of students, the officer saw two male students fighting, hitting each other in the face and upper torso.  Teachers and the officer separated the two students who were subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct/fighting and taken to the Brown County Jail, the report states.

*7:03pm-Brownwood Police were called to Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an assault.  Hospital staff advised the officer that a patient at the emergency room had been assaulted by her brother, the report states.

*12:37am-A Brownwood Police officer went to assist another officer with an accident scene in the 1900 block of US Hwy 377.  According to the report, investigation determined the driver  appeared to be intoxicated.  The driver was taken into custody and transported to the BRMC emergency room where he consented to a blood specimen, according to police.  Due to the injuries the driver sustained, he was released and charges for Driving While Intoxicated /Open Container will be pending  filing by the District Attorney’s Office.  The driver’s vehicle was towed and impounded.

*Early Police arrested Victoria Jean Caswell Pope Mayes of Bangs for Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Interfere with Emergency Call.
