Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, October 17, 2011.
Friday, October 14
*7:09am-Brownwood Police were called to the Sunset Terrace Apartments on Brick Street regarding vehicle tires being punctured. According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicles’ two front tires had been punctured sometime between 11:30pm on October 13th and 6:05am October 14th. The complainant named a person whom she believed was responsible for the damage, the report states.
*11:24pm-A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to Big Country Ford in Brownwood in reference to criminal mischief. According to the report, a 2012 black Ford Mustang had been damaged while at the lot. The general manager of the dealership reported that someone had damaged the vehicle’s roof sometime between 12 noon Saturday, October 8th and 6:00pm on Monday, October 10th.
*5:10pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Clark Street regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle had been hit by another vehicle while it was left unattended in the parking lot of the Howard Payne University dorms. The complainant stated that no information had been left at her vehicle nor did the person responsible contact her.
*9:48pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding a burglary of a habitation. After the officer spoke with witnesses and several suspects, he was able to eventually locate the stolen property in an apartment belonging to 18-year-old Clarence Vance Hickerson, Jr, police reports state. Hickerson was arrested and the stolen property, an entertainment center, was returned to the proper owner’s apartment.
*10:04pm-Brownwood Police received a report of a stolen debit card. According to the complainant, a known suspect stole the complainant’s Wal-Mart/Visa Debit card and used all but $5 of the funds which had been on the card. The suspect was not on scene; however he was identified and a warrant will be sought for his arrest.
*11:41pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of 4th Street. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend had just physically assaulted her.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Ashley Ruth Norman for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 Less than 1g in a Drug Free Zone.
Saturday, October 15
*9:42am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Avenue G regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime overnight an unknown person had punctured both of the left tires of her vehicle. The approximate cost to replace the tires was estimated at $300.
*11:14am-A Brownwood Police officer met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a hit and run. According to the report, the complainant stated that the incident occurred sometime between 5:00pm-7:00pm on October 14th.
*11:42am-Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Savoy regarding a fight between two females. According to police reports, one of the females, identified as 20-year-old Caliscia Monea Slaughter admitted that she did hit the other female in the mouth and after an investigation, Slaughter was arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
*12:30pm-A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Milam Drive regarding a damaged door at the Pavilion that is located at Festival Park. The reporting party stated that around 12:20pm this date he had discovered that the door had been damaged.
*2:24pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of Southside Drive regarding a burglary. According to the report, the complainant stated that he has been working on the residence which he owns as a rent house. While renovating the home, the complainant left some tools inside the residence and when he returned two weeks later, he found the back door (which he had locked) was standing open and that someone had stolen most of his tools. He stated that the only other person who had a key to the house was a previous tenant as she did not turn the key in to him when she moved.
*3:54pm-Brownwood Police were called to the1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding a hit and run. The complainant stated that her vehicle was struck by another vehicle while parked in the parking lot. The suspect vehicle was described as a gray 2003 SUV which fled the scene. The SUV was unable to be located.
*5:24pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop on a driver, identified as Jesse Deleon, running a stop sign located at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Brady Avenue. This traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Deleon for two outstanding warrants and in addition, Deleon was also issued two citations.
*7:30pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy met with a complainant in the parking lot of a convenience store located in the 9200 block of Hwy 279. According to the report, the complainant left his pickup Thursday morning at the parking lot due to mechanical problems and returned to get the pickup Friday night between 8:00 and 9:00pm. When he arrived, he noticed that his car stereo, an amplifier and two speakers had been stolen out of the 1977 Ford Pickup. The report states that the pickup was locked but the owner believes that it was entered through an unlocked driver’s side vent window. The value of the items stolen was estimated to be $243.
*11:08pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Hall Street in reference to a noise nuisance. According to the report, excessive noise was heard by the officer and determined to be coming from a residence in the 700 block of Gifford. The owner was issued a citation for noise nuisance.
*11:30pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a hit and run accident. The owner of the victim vehicle did not wish to pursue charges. The suspect vehicle is described as a black extended cab Chevrolet pickup with dark tinted windows, chrome wheels and an extended trailer hitch. The complainant’s vehicle received damage to the back right corner of the bumper while the suspect vehicle was believed to have damage just past the passenger compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle, the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop which led to the arrest of 34-year-old Michelle Lynn Long after various controlled substances and marijuana were found in her purse, according to BCSO officials. Long faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 3 Less than 28g; three counts of Possession of a Dangerous Drug; Possession of Marijuana Less than 2 oz; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Long was released Sunday, October 16th upon posting bonds totaling $12,000.
Sunday, October 16
*2:34am-Brownwood Police responded to the 2300 block of 14th Street in reference to public intoxication. The suspect was reported to have been in a wreck and was trying to fight with the caller’s brother. Dispatch could not advise where the accident occurred; however as the officer arrived in the area, he located the accident scene in the 2400 block where a parked vehicle was damaged. The suspect fled on foot from the residence in the 2300 block of 14th before the officer arrived. The suspect was identified and his vehicle towed due to his action of fleeing the scene and the damages sustained in the accident. The investigation continues and charges of failing to comply with requirements on striking an unattended vehicle have been filed.
*8:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 12th Street regarding assault family violence. The complainant stated that her husband had pushed her into a gun case but she did not want to pursue charges. Her husband also stated that she had pushed him; however neither party was injured nor wished to pursue charges against her either, the report states. Both were given information about family violence.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 30-year-old Ryan Wayne Smith for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 Less than 1g; Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence; and Theft of Property Greater than or Equal to $50 Less than $500.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 31-year-old William Roy Smith for Failure to Identify Fugitive; Theft of Property Greater than or Equal to $50 Less than $500; and for Parole Violation.
Monday, October 17
* 12:07am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Avenue B regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated his girlfriend had hit him on the right side of his head with her purse. The complainant had a dime size bump and a small cut approximately 1/8 inch on the right side of his head, the report states. The complainant wished to pursue criminal charges against the suspect.
*Bangs Police arrested 29-year-old Jose Carrizales for Assault Family Violence.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
