Tuesday, October 9
*6:44am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Dallas Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the tires on two of the complainant’s vehicles had been punctured, possibly with a Phillips head screw driver. The complainant estimated the value of each tire to be $75.
*10:34am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of S. Broadway regarding counterfeiting. According to the report, the complainant reported that three checks were returned to her business unpaid. The complainant stated that when she contacted the bank, she was told the account from which they were written did not exist, the report states. The complainant explained that the checks were presented by a known customer who claimed the checks were written on her fiancée’s account and was able to provide positive identification for the suspect.Thursday, October 11
*4:00pm-A Brownwood Police officer while on duty at Brownwood High School was notified of a student being on campus who had been removed from the campus and placed into the Alternative School. The student did not have permission to be on the BHS campus and a trespass warning was issued to the student, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to County Road 369 regarding found property. According to the report, a Cub Cadet riding lawnmower was found in the middle of the roadway. The item was brought to the BCSO and stored for safe keeping until it can be properly identified and claimed by its owner.
Friday, October 12
*8:15am-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Asbury. This stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 56-year-old Richard Carson Elms, for possession of marijuana less than 2 oz.
*8:41am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Avenue E regarding theft $1500-$20,000.
*12:48pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of the battery off of a riding lawnmower at a residence on County Road 101.
*2:57pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Memorial Park Drive regarding a hit and run. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown vehicle struck her vehicle and then fled the scene.
*3:32pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center where they received a report of theft in the 500 block of Main Street. According to the report, a description of the stolen property was obtained as well as the name of a possible suspect.
*5:17pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of 5th Street regarding theft of tattooing equipment. According to the report, a known suspect was named.
*8:07pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Brady Avenue regarding a civil issue. According to the report, a female had taken money from her husband and the male subject stated that she was mad because he had taken her phone. The female made a call to dispatch and stated that the male had grabbed his ex-girlfriend’s wrist and assaulted her. This call led to the arrest of 25-year-old Robert Lee Howard Brookbank for burglary with intent to commit assault.
*8:22pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3800 block of 4th Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that his phone was stolen by his ex-girlfriend.
*9:02pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of W. Commerce regarding an intoxicated person. This call led to the arrest of 60-year-old Charles Frederick Ruane for public intoxication.
*10:10pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling an area of Main Street when he saw a vehicle leaving an area known for drug trafficking. The vehicle failed to signal and the deputy made a traffic stop on it, according to the report. After dispatch notified the deputy that the driver’s license was suspended, he was told he would receive a citation for the offense, the report states. Then after visiting with the driver about the area being known for drugs, he stated that the officer could search the vehicle but that there were no narcotics in it, the report states. A search of the vehicle yielded one 10mg pill of Hydrocodone, the report states. The driver identified as 49-year-old Patrick O’Connor was not able to produce a prescription for the narcotic and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 3 less than 28 grams, according to the report.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible fraudulent use/possession of identifying information from a complainant. According to the report, the woman reported that she may have driven from her home while her wallet was on the hood of her vehicle. When the complainant returned home, the wallet had fallen into her driveway; however credit cards and other identifying information was missing from the wallet.
*Brownwood Police arrested 19-year-old Reynaldo Mendoza for driving while license invalid with previous suspension without financial responsibility.
Saturday, October 13
*1:15am-Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an area just north of the intersection of Hwy 279 and FM 2125 where several people were reported to be fighting. According to the report, a complainant stated that he had been injured during the fight and that a known suspect had caused nearly $700 damage to his vehicle during the altercation.
*4:30pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of 3rd Street regarding theft.
*7:13pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant reported that a suspect threw a soda pop on the back of his vehicle.
*9:15pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Boneta regarding an assault which had occurred in a pickup. According to the report, the female victim stated that she was assaulted in the vehicle of an acquaintance by her boyfriend. The female had minor injuries to her face, and stated that she wished to pursue charges. The suspect was unable to be contacted at the time of the report.
*9:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Commerce regarding drugs/narcotics. According to the report, an employee at McDonald’s reported that a small baggie containing a green leafy substance was found on the ground in front of the order station inside the restaurant. The suspect was unknown and the baggie, containing the green leafy substance, was turned into the Brownwood Police Department for destruction.
*10:07pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to an ATV accident. A 24-year-old male sustained injuries to his head, arms and legs, the report states. The deputy noticed track marks that appeared the male had been doing “donuts” when the axle broke, causing the vehicle to flip, landing on the male, according to the report. The male was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.
Sunday, October 14
*12:21am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2600 block of Crockett Drive regarding an assault.
*1:29am-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal mischief. According to the report, a suspect threw a rock at the complainant’s vehicle after a verbal altercation. The complainant estimated $200 damage to the vehicle.
*2:00am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft. According to the report, a compressor, home theater system and 2 cans of paint were stolen from the store. The suspect had left in a black passenger vehicle. The call led to Saul Salvador Sanchez being arrested for Theft $50<$500 and an outstanding warrant for driving while license invalid and failure to maintain financial responsibility, the report states.
*8:30am-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of E. Adams Street regarding a domestic disturbance. No arrest was made and the suspect left the residence.
*4:02pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Belle Plain Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that in the last 24 hours, someone had stolen miscellaneous hand tools and lawn mower parts from the front porch of his residence. The identity of a possible suspect was provided by the complainant.
*5:31pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Austin Avenue regarding reckless driving. According to the report, a police officer on patrol observed a vehicle driving recklessly. After an investigation, the driver identified as 17-year-old Billy Edward Jones was placed under arrest for reckless driving, the report states.
*10:08pm-Brownwood Police were called to a residence in the 1700 block of Fort Worth Street regarding a runaway juvenile.
