A suspect was arrested Monday morning, shortly after being observed allegedly burglarizing a vehicle as an off duty Brownwood Police officer was walking in the neighborhood .
According to the report, at approximately 5:22 a.m. Assistant Chief James Fuller was in the 2000 block of 11th Street when he witnessed a male subject burglarizing a vehicle. The male subject fled on foot and led Fuller on a short foot chase but was apprehended by another officer nearby, the report states.
The registered owner of the vehicle was contacted and informed of the incident. She checked the vehicle and did not notice anything missing; however, during a short investigation, an officer found a lint brush in an unopened package laying in the roadway in front of the neighboring residence, according to the report. At this time, a second vehicle burglary was being reported in the same general area, the 1800 block of Slayden Street, and officers were responding.
The second burglary involved a wallet containing $165 in cash being stolen from the vehicle.
Officers located 17-year-old Acey Glenn Sliger of Brownwood, who was positively identified by Assistant Chief Fuller as the suspect in the burglary on 11th Street, the report states. Because the lint brush was taken at the first vehicle burglary, Sliger was arrested and charged with the burglary of a vehicle. He was later also linked to the second burglary, for which he was charged, and $104 of the cash was recovered, the report states.

Thursday, October 8
*9:58 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence in May, Texas where he spoke with a complainant who reported approximately $1,000.00 in cash and one day’s worth of prescription medication missing, including a Hydrocodone pill. A suspect was named, according to the report.
*10:17 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of the unauthorized use and damage of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the owner stated that sometime between 10:30 p.m. on October 7th and 9:30 a.m. someone had taken his 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche from his yard without his consent. That vehicle had been in a one-vehicle wreck approximately 0.2 miles south of his residence on FM 2126 at approximately 6:54 a.m. this date, the report states. The wreck was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the vehicle was towed to Brownwood Towing, according to the report. The deputy conducted an investigation of the unauthorized use of the vehicle.
*5:41 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4500 block of Danhil Drive regarding a follow up of the theft of a welder, which was mounted on a trailer, from the property. The officer spoke with a Brown County Sheriff’s deputy regarding the theft.
Friday, October 9
*8:50 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on CR 564 regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between the hours of 5 p.m. on October 8th and 8 a.m. on October 9th, an unknown suspect let the air out of a tire on his pickup. The deputy observed a screw in the middle tread of the tire; however, the victim maintains he believes a neighbor put the screw in the tire, the report states. The victim did not see anyone put a screw in the tire according to the deputy’s report.
*9:41 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a property on Ardee Drive in Brownwood regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that his son had written a check from his checking account without his consent.
*2:39 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a Comanche Electrical Co-Op lineman who showed him two different electrical boxes, which had been illegally wired to bypass the meters. The lineman stated the total amount of loss is approximately $3,000.00, the report states. Also found by the deputy was a pump-jack with oil leaking from the bottom part of the well head, according to the report. The Texas Railroad Commission was notified and a joint inspection has been scheduled, the report states.
*5:59 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to CR 121 in regarding the theft of electricity. According to the report, the complainant stated that the person leasing the property was stealing electricity. The deputy photographed the electrical poles and the equipment the poles were supplying energy to, the report states.
*6:57 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding found property. According to the report a wallet had been found and turned into the Brownwood Police Department. An attempt to contact the owner was unsuccessful and the wallet was taken to the BPD evidence room for safe keeping, the report states.
*10:07 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle around the 9600 block of N. Highway 279 for equipment violations. The occupants of the vehicle were identified. This stop led to the arrest of 22-year-old Clyde Frank Morgan III on an outstanding warrant for theft. 28-year-old Lukas Scott Rootes and 27-year-old Jimmy Dale Couch were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a consent search of the vehicle, the report states. Couch was additionally charged with tamper/fabricate physical evidence for attempting to dispose of drug paraphernalia, according to the deputy’s report.
*10:17 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding an intoxicated male. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 56-year-old Chester Nolan Williams of Blanket for public intoxication.
*Brownwood Police arrested 35-year-old Paul Bean of Lubbock for disorderly conduct.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Chelsea Marie Belvin of Brownwood on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Early Police arrested 50-year-old Bobby Clay Browne of Brownwood on warrants related to driving while license invalid and violate promise to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Mary Culp of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/assault causes bodily injury.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Aaron Jacob Inman of Early on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old David Joe Pierce II of San Saba on warrants related to failure to appear, failure to maintain financial responsibility and driving while license invalid.
Saturday, October 10
*12:29 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding theft. According to the report, three 40 oz beers, valued at $5.89, were stolen from the business and management wished to pursue charges. A suspect has been identified, the report states.
* 7:30 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy Byron Langley was called to a residence on 7th Street in Blanket regarding harassment. According to the report, the female complainant stated her ex-boyfriend had posted explicit pictures of her on Tumbler, the report states.
*10:11 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy and corporal arrived at a residence on FM 585 N in Brownwood, regarding a burglary. According to the report, the victim stated someone had broken into a camper trailer and stolen a shotgun and a compound bow from inside.
*3:45 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the area of County Road 269 regarding a miniature horse that was running loose on the roadway. According to the report, the deputy located the horse near the intersection of CR 269 and US Hwy 183 S. After making a diligent effort to locate the owner of the horse, the horse was eventually estrayed and secured in a cattle pin at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 19-year-old Joe Perry Gutierrez of Amarillo for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Early Police arrested 47-year-old Christopher Burt Hardaway of Bangs for public intoxication.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Jose Luis Noyola on a warrant related to theft of services equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Ricky LeShawn Smith of Bangs on warrants related to motion to revoke/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2-A equal or less than 2 ounces. Smith was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $31,500.
*Early Police arrested 29-year-old Darron Taylor of Brownwood for possession of marijuana.
Sunday, October 11
*9:40 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding theft of property. According to the report, multiple items of jewelry were stolen from the residence.
*11:46 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Milton Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance.
*4:26 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to an area near the intersection of County Road 196 and County Road 192 in Bangs in reference to found property. According to the report, an abandoned bicycle had been found on the side of the road. The bicycle was confiscated and listed as found property until an owner can be located.
*5:44 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of a stolen car from a home in Blanket, TX.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a consensual contact with 17-year-old Xavier Barron and 17-year-old Cortney Dewell, both of Brownwood, at the Sonic in Early. According to the report, during the contact the deputy obtained consent to search the vehicle. As the deputy was speaking with Dewell, she stated that she had a marijuana pipe in her bag which was in the vehicle, the report states. During the search, a small burnt joint, weighing .7g with paper, was located along with a multi colored marijuana pipe, according to the deputy’s report. Both Barron and Dewell were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.

Monday, October 12
*8:35 AM – Brownwood Police were called to a south Brownwood residence regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant stated her soon-to-be ex-husband is harassing her.
*2:48 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend has been texting treating messages and calling her repeatedly.
*6:21 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of the sexual assault of a child.
*6:22 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the officer photographed the victim vehicle and then after leaving the property, was called back when the suspect vehicle returned to the area. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Keith Glenn Driskill of May was arrested on active warrants and the vehicle was found to have damage consistent damage observed on the victim vehicle.
*8:59 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 6th Street regarding theft. According to the report, plastic chairs, a folding table and a trash can were stolen from the residence.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle, which was speeding into Bangs. According to the report, the vehicle came to a stop in the 100 block of East Hall, which is within 1000 feet of Bangs ISD located on N. 3rd Street. During the stop, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which located a box containing 3.3g of Marijuana and a grinder, which contained .8g of marijuana inside the vehicle, the report states. Subsequently, the driver 19-year-old Candice Breann Perez and passenger 18-year-old Mason Deanda, both of Lubbock, were arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
*22-year-old Blaze Austin Douglas of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Dallas Cole Graham of May for driving/operating a watercraft under the influence of alcohol/minor.
