Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, October 12, 2011.

Sunday, October 9

*3:45pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was called to the area of County Road 190 approximately one mile from FM 1176 in regarding a case of subjects “mudding” in the bar ditch.  When the deputy arrived, he located a vehicle which was stuck in the mud and unoccupied.  The driver’s identification was determined and he was contacted.  According to the report, the driver stated that he was on his way to pick up a friend when he saw that the bar ditch was muddy and he wanted to see if his large SUV could handle the muddy conditions.  He then stated that after the vehicle became stuck in the mud, he called someone to come pick him up and was looking for a way to remove the vehicle from the bar ditch.

The deputy informed the driver that if he was purposely “mudding” he may face criminal charges and damages.  The length of the bar ditch traveled by the SUV was measured to be 1/10 of a mile before it became stuck.  The driver changed his story later and said that he had accidentally driven into the mud, according to the report.  Due to the previous statements of purposely driving into the ditch, the investigation is ongoing, the amount of damages is being determined.  The commissioner of the precinct, Steve Adams, has been contacted and had not returned the deputy’s call regarding the incident to pursue any criminal charges.

 

Monday, October 10

* 8:08am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Broadmoor regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had entered his pickup and stolen several items.  These items included a black leather cell phone case, a cell phone, 3 gas cards, 2 credit cards, a check book and $7 cash.  All items were recovered except for the cell phone and the $7 cash, the report states.

*3:25pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of W. Commerce, Nita’s Bail Bonds, regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an antique sword and power tools were stolen from the residence while a subject was working at the property.  The estimated value of the stolen items was $2500.

Tuesday, October 11

*1:25pm-Brownwood Police officer spoke with a complainant who reported that a person had forged one of his checks.  According to police, he also stated that he was missing another check and that he thinks it too was stolen at that time.

*2:51pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft.  The asset protection employee stated she had detained 19-year-old Whitney Patterson and 18-year-old Denise Sprinkle for theft.  After an investigation, Patterson and Sprinkle were each arrested for Theft Equal or greater than $50 less than $500.

*5:34pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, the loss prevention employee stated that he had observed the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Deverea Mills place merchandise in her purse without attempting to pay for them, walking past the last point of sale.  Mills was arrested for Theft equal or greater than $50 and less than $500.

*6:43pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding theft.  According to the report, the victim reported that on October 11th, between the hours of 11:30am and 8:30pm, an unknown suspect took his Murry 22” cut 8HP Briggs and Straton lawnmower from outside his apartment.

*6:47pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Coggin, Zazoom Driving Center, regarding fraud.  The manager reported that a customer had paid for services with a fraudulent check, the report states.

*8:50pm-Brownwood Police responded to the burglary of a residence in the 1200 block of Hall Street.  The complainant stated that an unknown person had entered the home and took several family photos and $220 in cash.  A possible suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Tamarra Sue Bond for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 less than 1g in a Drug Free Zone.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 3 less than 28g in a Drug Free Zone.

Wednesday, October 12

*12:58am-Brownwood Police were dispatched regarding an intoxicated male that was seen driving from the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 401 W. Commerce.  The officer made a traffic stop, after following the driver, at 411 W. Commerce.  The driver, identified as 22-year-old Stanley Moses Skinner of Early, showed signs of intoxication.  Skinner was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a voluntary blood sample.

*3:30am-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  The officer spoke with a complainant regarding the burglary which had occurred two months ago.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a laptop computer was stolen during the incident.  A serial number was provided and the laptop was entered into the database as stolen.

*10:33pm-A Brownwood Police officer responded to the 1800 block of 12th Street regarding an unwanted person.  The subject had left the residence prior to the officer’s arrival; however was located a block away, the report states.  The subject was identified as 20-year-old Howard Lee Adams.  Adams was arrested for Public Intoxication of a Minor.

*12:33am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Main Street, the Family Dollar Store, regarding disorderly conduct.  According to the report, a male subject was reported to be laying down in front of the store and yelling at no one in particular.  An officer located the man, identified as 58-year-old Glenn Franklin Bryant, and determined him to be intoxicated.  Bryant was arrested for Public Intoxication.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
