Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 12, 2010.

Friday, October 8

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft in at a home in Bangs.  According to the report, the complainant stated that two incidents occurred where a wedding ring set valued at $4000 and $1000 in cash had been stolen.  The report states that the complainant is undergoing chemotherapy treatments and taking college courses and did not report the thefts immediately due to hoping that she would find the missing items in her residence; however she did not.  After her husband saw a report that one of her housekeepers had been named as a suspect in the theft of another wedding ring, he urged her to report the incidents to the authorities.

*8:44am-A Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle with an expired registration sticker in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue.  The driver, identified as Adam Leon Oneal was issued a warning for the violation but was arrested for having a suspended driver’s license with previous convictions/no liability insurance.

*1:15pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, to Brookshire’s, in regard to a shoplifter that was being detained.  Contact was made and the suspect, identified as Lana Seay Williams of Comanche, was arrested for theft less than $1500 with 2 or more previous convictions.

*4:56pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Phillips regarding assault/offensive touch.

*6:30pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of Austin and Fisk regarding a disorderly subject at Howard Payne University.  Upon arrival a male subject was located and issued a criminal trespass warning for all HPU properties at the request of HPU security.  The subject was released at the scene.

*7:25pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2900 block of Austin Avenue regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had been assaulted by his wife and stepdaughter who fled scene prior to officer’s arrival.  The investigation is ongoing.

*9:46pm-A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of driver 29-year-old Tina Marie Ellis for Driving While License Invalid/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

Saturday, October 9

*12:00am-Brownwood Police were called regarding criminal mischief in the 300 block of Center Avenue.  The report states that the windshield of the complainant’s vehicle had been shot by a BB gun causing damage.

*4:28pm-Brownwood Police received a report of terroristic threat.  Information on incident was obtained and suspect was identified.

*6:37pm-A Brownwood Police officer observed a male subject walking in the direction of Bluffview from the area of the Law Enforcement Center.  According to the report, the man, later identified as 49-year-old Joe Alfonso Martinez, was swaying and staggering as he walked and was determined to be intoxicated.  Martinez was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication.

*7:18pm-A Brownwood Police officer was approached by a complainant who gave the officer a handgun that had been left in a customer’s room at a local hotel.  The handgun was placed in evidence room at the BPD for safekeeping.

*8:48pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Vine regarding a counterfeit $10 bill.  According to the report, a store employee reported that a man had purchased beer and then drove away.  The employee noticed the bill was counterfeit and called police.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report.

*11:51pm-A Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for peeling out dangerously at a stop sign at the intersection of 10th Street and Coggin.  After investigating, the driver, identified as 47-year-old Thomas Jefferson Rice, failed standard field sobriety tests and was determined to be intoxicated the report states.  Rice was then arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 40-year-old Dewayne Crosby of Abilene for Public Intoxication and Open Container Alcoholic Beverage.

* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 35-year-old John Wade Myatt of Big Spring for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction.

* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 56-year-old Lorenzo Walker for Driving While Intoxicated, 1st Open Container.

Sunday, October 10

*12:31am-A Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 800 block of Melwood due to a defective license plate lamp.  After further investigation, four baggies of marijuana were located as well as one oxycodone tablet the report states.  The driver and passenger, identified as 34-year-old Shauna Lynn Anderson and 25-year-old Justin Leigh Morris both of Santa Anna.  Anderson was charged with  Possession of a Controlled Substance, penalty grade 1, in a drug free zone, Morris was charged with Possession of Marijuana, less than 2 oz in a drug free zone and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

*1:30am-A Brownwood Police officer, while on a call at a local restaurant in the 400 block of W. Commerce, observed a white pickup truck back into another pickup truck that was unoccupied.  According to the report, the driver fled the scene without leaving any information.  The officer then stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as 45-year-old Kenneth Newton of Bowie for fleeing the scene of an accident (less than $200 damage) the report states.  The passenger, identified as 33-year-old William Hugh Wilson, Jr. of Hamilton was also arrested for outstanding warrants from Brown County.

*1:01pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of W. Commerce to a local convenience store regarding an unwanted person.  The officer met with the complainant and upon request a criminal trespass warning was issued to the suspect.

*4:21-pm-Brownwood Police received a report of harassment.  Further investigation led to a report on Breach of Computer.

*6:38pm-Brownwood Police received a report of criminal mischief in the 2900 block of Austin Avenue.  A suspect was contacted; however, no arrest was made as of the time of the report.

*7:36pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of 4th and Willis regarding an assault.  Suspects fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival, however they were identified.  According to the report the two suspects were located and issued criminal trespass warnings to the victim’s residence.

*11:10pm-A Brownwood Police officer while on patrol noticed a wanted subject, identified as 19-year-old Pedro Rocha, Jr., in the 2200 block of Durham.  According to the report Rocha fled into nearby house.  After the officer obtained access into the house, Rocha was arrested on the outstanding warrants and charged with endangering a child and Theft of Property, greater than $50, less than $500, the report states.  A female, identified as 19-year-old Marlana Gomez, was also arrested on scene for hindering apprehension and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.

*11:55pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Avenue C regarding an assault.  According to the report, upon the officer’s arrival it was determined that the two suspects had been in an argument, but neither wished to pursue charges for the alleged assault.

Monday, October 11

*Early Police Department arrested 38-year-old Maxy Lynn Thetford for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.

* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 18-year-old Charles Sheldon Williams for Possession of Marijuana, less than 2 oz.

* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 23-year-oldMykal Angelo Manzano for Failure to Identify.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
