LECSmLaw enforcement arrests and reports released Monday and Tuesday, October 10-11, 2016.

Friday, October 7

*11:38 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on FM 586 regarding a possible theft.  The suspect was issued a criminal trespass warning for the residence.

*3:15 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Crockett Drive regarding a domestic disturbance.

*4:58 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy arrived at High Mesa Drive in Brownwood regarding loose livestock. According to the report, a complainant had located two horses running loose on High Mesa Drive.  Both horses were secured at the arena located behind the High Mesa Cowboy Church on High Mesa Drive, the report states.  Attempts to locate an owner were unsuccessful and the horses were loaded by a cowboy and taken to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center’s estray pens.

*7:00 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of W. Commerce regarding the theft of a mini dirt bike.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Dortha Wallace Barrow of Kerrville, Texas and 60-year-old Lex Truitt Barrow of Brownwood, both on warrants related to a surety withdrawal/delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.  Both were being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 each.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 60-year-old Bryant Eddie Gilbert of Early, Texas on a Tarrant County warrant related to non-child support.

*36-year-old Richard Leon Hathcock, Jr. of Early, Texas turned himself in on a warrant related to a probation violation.

*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Jesse Graviel III of Brownwood on a warrant related to duty on striking.

*Brownwood Police arrested 20-year-old Claude Edward Murphey, Jr. of Brownwood on warrants related to three counts of burglary of a vehicle.

Saturday, October 8

*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Jordan Noel Doucette of Brownwood on a Mills County warrant related to failure to appear/criminal mischief greater than $2500 less than $30,000.

*Brownwood Police arrested 33-ear-old Robert John Eugene Rook of Brownwood for public intoxication.

*Brownwood Police arrested 19-year-old Isreal D. Samuels of Brownwood for indecency with child/sexual contact.  Samuels was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond as of Tuesday morning.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Maddison Renee Sturgeon of Bangs on warrants related to three counts of burglary of a vehicle.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Quincey Alan Wolsch of Brownwood on a Falls County warrant related to a surety withdrawal/terroristic threat.

Sunday, October 9

*12:05 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy and a BCSO Corporal performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on Belle Plain, with information the occupants were in possession of methamphetamine. According to the report, the occupants were identified as 48-year-old Steven Taggart of Early, 32-year-old Joshua James Stovall of Early and a female.  A baggie with 2.4 grams of methamphetamine was located in Taggart’s pocket and a baggie with 4.1 grams of methamphetamine was located in Stovall’s pocket, the report states.  Taggart and Stovall each claimed the other had given them the methamphetamine in an attempt to conceal the contraband.  The female occupant was also searched and no contraband was found. Stovall and Taggart were both arrested, each charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams and tamper/fabricate physical evidence.  Stovall was also arrested on two surety withdrawals.  Taggart was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bond.  Stovall was being held on bonds totaling $110,000 as of Tuesday morning.

*1:11 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault which occurred at a local night club in the early morning hours of this date.  According to the report, the complainant stated that while playing pool, she and another female had begun to have some “issues” when a male subject came up from behind her and began choking her, causing her to eventually pass out.  The incident was documented.

*3:50 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Vincent Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the driver’s side mirror had been damaged.

*10:17 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the to the 1900 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding criminal mischief causing damage to the complainant’s vehicle.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s corporal was travelling southbound on Hwy 279 near County Road 557 when he observed a vehicle parked on the southbound shoulder with its hazard lights flashing. According to the report, the car was occupied with 4 people.  The driver was identified as 20-year-old Quentin Noel McKinnerney and the front passenger and owner of the car was identified as 20-year-old Raymond Rene Garcia, both of Brownwood.  This call led to the arrest of Garcia and McKinnerney for public intoxication and the two rear passengers were issued minor in consumption citations.

Monday, October 10

*2:20 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Austin Avenue which resulted in the discovery of marijuana paraphernalia inside the vehicle.  As a result of this stop, the evidence was seized and the driver was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

*6:05 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft of property.  According to the report, a female suspect was observed shoplifting clothing and candy valued at more than $140 from the business.  As a result of this call, the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Brandi Lyn Stokes of Brownwood, was arrested and charged with theft greater than $100 less than $750.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to County Road 129 in Brownwood regarding the violation of a protective order. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had received multiple harassing text messages from her ex-husband.  She stated that the text messages involved seeing their children and that she took these text messages as harassing and annoying and wished to file a report, according to the deputy.

*Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Raul Romero, Jr. of Brownwood on warrants related to driving while license invalid and violate promise to appear.
