Monday, October 8
*10:17pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the car wash at the intersection of W. Commerce and W. Austin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that she cleans the car wash at night and while inside the building, someone opened her car door and took her purse.
Tuesday, October 9
*12:25am-Brownwood Police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Maple regarding narcotics.
*12:57am-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 4th Street and Magnolia for traveling at excessive speed, 38 mph in a 30 mph zone. This stop would lead to the driver and both passengers being issued citations for open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.*8:13pm-Brownwood made a traffic stop in the 2000 block of 1st Street. According to the report, the officer observed a motor scooter with two riders. The male driver was honking the horn unlawfully and did not have a functioning headlamp, so a traffic stop was initiated. This stop led to the recovery of the motor scooter which was reported stolen on April 1, 2009 in Abilene.
*8:40pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Camelot Apartment Complex regarding a black Colt Defender BB gun pistol which was found by a young girl.
*Early Police arrested Charles David Croft, 59 of Brownwood, for driving while intoxicated 2nd.
Wednesday, October 10
*8:05pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a vehicle was damaged and several items were stolen from Big Country Ford. The items included a hatchet, a hammer, and pliers.
