Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, July 27, 2010.

Tuesday, July 20

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a window being shot at a residence on Hwy 279.  According to the report, the hole seemed to be from a .22 caliber pellet gun.  No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Thursday, July 22

*At 10:40pm, Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Avenue E for a civil standby.  This led to a report of assault and unlawful restraint the report states.

Friday, July 23

*At 9:34am, Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to Oak Hill Circle to speak with a complainant about the theft of tools from a job site.  Information was taken from the complainant, along with photos and fingerprints.  According to the report, the stolen items included a wheel barrow, air compressor, chop saw, and several extension cords.  No suspects were named and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Saturday, July 24

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on N Hwy 183 that had been burglarized. Items stolen included two televisions and a DVD player according to the report.  No arrests had been made as of the time of the report.

Sunday, July 25

*Two officers from the Brown County Sheriff’s Department made contact with a parked vehicle at Ten Mile Crossing.  When speaking with the driver (25-year-old Erin Lynelle Nelson) and passenger (26-year-old Jason Michael Covault), an open container was noted in the vehicle, the report states.  After consent to search the vehicle, a marijuana pipe along with a clear plastic baggie of marijuana were discovered.  According to the report, both occupants were mirandized and then questioned about the marijuana, which they denied knowledge of, stating that it belonged to a friend.

Investigating further, the officers found a flag pole (which was reported earlier as stolen from the Brownwood Country Club).  When questioned about the flag pole, both stated that a friend had put it in the back of the suspects’ truck, the report states.  Both Nelson and Covault were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and Nelson was additionally charged with theft of property.  Total weight of the marijuana with packaging was 13.8 grams.

Monday, July 26

*Shortly after 6:00am, Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of 4th Street in reference to an unwanted person.  After an investigation, a criminal trespass warning was issued to the subject who left without further incident according to the report.

*At 7:02am Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Buck View Drive in Reference to a theft.  A party was being held that a.m. and after staying up all night, there were only a few party goers left at the residence.  As the complainant remembered that her vehicle was unlocked with the keys in it, three males she did not know were leaving.  When a male friend of the complainant went outside to check on the vehicle, he noted the dome light going off automatically and then found several items (valued at approximately $1300) to be missing from the interior of the vehicle.  The three men were still on scene, in a truck about to leave when the male friend tapped on their vehicle’s window, they sped off.  No arrests have been made and the incident is being investigated.

*At 7:33am, Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Main regarding a burglary.  According to police the owner of the building requested a report be filed.

*Around 10:30am, Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E Commerce in regard to found property.

*At 10:32am, a complainant came to the Brownwood Police Department to report that the rear license of her vehicle had been lost.  She had replaced it but wished to file a report to document what had happened, the report states.

*Approximately 10:30, Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Avenue D in reference to a stolen bicycle.  The bicycle had been taken from the front yard of the residence according to the report.

*At 11:17am, Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Brownwood Police Department.  According to police  reports, the man stated that his wife had received a letter in the mail with a check inside which he believed to be forged and the letter accompanying it to be a scam.

*Approximately 11:24am, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview in regards to criminal mischief.

*At 3:30pm Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Austin Avenue in reference to found property.  According to the report an employee at the Family Services Center found a bicycle abandoned in the parking lot.

*Approximately 3:37, Brownwood Police responded to the 1100 block of Tannehill where they received a report of a runaway juvenile.  The juvenile was entered into the database as a runaway juvenile.

*At 3:50pm a Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Avenue E.  The driver, identified as 19-year-old Moises Lopez Bermudez, was believed to be an illegal immigrant, so Border Patrol was contacted according to police reports.  A detainer was placed on the driver by Border Patrol.

*At 5:29pm, Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of 6th Street where a male, identified as 30-year-old Luis Fernando Cardenas, was arrested for Assault Family Violence and Injury to a Child according to police reports.

*At 9:23pm, Brownwood Police responded to the 400 block of North Main in regards to criminal trespass warnings the manager wished to be given.  Subjects were identified and a report was made.

*At 10:26pm, a Brownwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop which led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 70-year-old Charles Eugene Anderson, for Driving While Intoxicated, second offense.

Tuesday, July 27

*At 12:22am, Brownwood Police responded to the 3300 block of 1st Street to a weapons offence involving a BB gun the report states.  Evidence led to an investigation of criminal mischief >$50<$500.

*Brownwood Police arrested 50-year-old Susan Lynnette Jefferson for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
