Funeral Services for Lavonda “Robbie” Spears, age 69 of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Heartland Funeral Home with Stan Roberts and Steve Polaski officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Spears passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Born December 15, 1943. A 26 year employee of 3M. A member of Victory Life Church, a loving woman known as GG and loved by all. She loved hunting, fishing, gardening and truck driving.
She began her battle against cancer in 2009. She battled valiantly for 4 ½ years alongside her companion, Robert L. Smith of Brownwood.
She is preceded in death by her husband Murry Spears of Brownwood, parents Maurice and Violet Thompson of Early, and sister Catherine McGuffin of Modesto, California. She is survived by her brother, Donny Thompson of Hawaii; daughter, Teresa Stembridge with Tony Weirich of Coleman and grandchildren LaKeisha, Collin, Stevie. Sons, Jerry (Shorty) Lobstein of Brownwood and granddaughter Faith; and Brandon Bartee of Houston. Step-sons Murray Spears and daughter Dakota of Brownwood, and Gerald Ray Lobstein of Zephyr. Great grandchildren Kalie and Jayden, 4 nephews, 2 nieces, many great nieces and nephews, and her beloved dogs Chapo and Darling.
