Laura Sue James, of Lake Brownwood, passed away at her home on Friday, August 11, 2017. Laura was born June 24, 1950, in Lampasas to Cullen and Martha (Looney) Biggs.
She moved to the Brownwood area in 1962 where she attended Brownwood Schools. She married Darrell R. James on October 28, 1967 in Brownwood.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, a son and daughter-in-law; Chad and Anita James of College Station, a daughter and son-in-law; Darla and John Loyless of Andrews, seven grandchildren; Amanda James of Ardmore, OK, Todd James of Pauls Valley, OK, Skylar and husband Robert Brown of College Station, Logan James of College Station, Jonathon Loyless, Benjamin Loyless and Caleb Loyless, all of Andrews, four great-grandsons, Eddie and Nathan Dill of Ardmore, OK, Wade and Beau Brown of College Station; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Joy Brooks of Lake Vallecito, CO, Skip Brooks of Lebanon, TN, and David and Rhonda Biggs of San Antonio; four brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Howard and Loma James of Lake Brownwood, Billy and Diane James of Grape Creek, Randall and Glenda James of Zephyr and Ricky and Linda James of Clyde.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Earl and Mattie Looney of Brownwood and Dr. Walter D. and Susie Biggs of Lometa, her father and mother, Cullen and Martha (Looney) Biggs of Brownwood and two sisters-in-law, Peggy James of Brownwood and Nita Brooks of Lebanon, TN.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 6:00 PM, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early, with cremation to follow.
Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness and/or ALS Research.
