Laura Eileen (Billings) Payne, age 57, of Brownwood passed away Monday, November 07, 2016, to join her Lord and Savior.
Memorial Service for Laura will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Cross Plains with Bro. Ronnie White officiating; interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Laura was born to Adelbert and Rebecca Billings on May 22, 1959, in Hartford, CT; she was the 5th of 6 children. After the split of her parents, she was raised by her mom who worked 2 jobs to make ends meet.
Laura married her husband of 31 years, Jerry Payne, in El Paso on May 4, 1985. They were blessed with a son, Jimmy Lee Payne, on November 24, 1985. She spent her life teaching Jim the way to live a fruitful life. Laura was truly a loving person and asks nothing for herself. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Sam Billings.
Laura is survived by her husband, Jerry Payne of Brownwood; son, Jim Payne of Brownwood; grandson, Joshua Payne of Brownwood; step-daughter, Lila Mobley and husband Michael of May; 3 step-granddaughters, Alisha, Heather, and Victoria all of Brownwood. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
