BrownwoodNews – The Pearl Griffin Memorial Latch Key Program will be hosting their annual hamburger and hotdog supper fundraiser on the 17th from 5 till 7. Tickets to the event are $7 for adults and $5 for kids and includes a burger or a hotdog with chips and a drink.
The staff and board members of the Latch Key program will be volunteering as servers and the kids in the program have made the decorations.
Pecan Valley Kiwanians are doing to cooking, and there will also be a drawing for prizes that have been donated by area businesses. A trip for 4 to a Texas Rangers Game, with hotel and a meal are the grand prize.
Dinner for 2 at Section Hand and 4 games of bowling at Res Texas Lanes is the 2nd prize and 3rd prize is 2 large Pizza Hut pizzas, a RedBox rental and popcorn is the 3rd prize.
Latch Key benefits families in the Brownwood ISD whose families qualify for free or reduced lunches in accordance with state guidelines, who are either working or going to school during after-school hours.
The program is offered free of charge to qualifying families and is staffed by Howard Payne University students through the university’s work study program. The children each receive a snack, get help with with homework, and participate in activities planned for them by the student staff after homework time.
