Larry was born May 5, 1943 in May, Texas to Thurman Columbus and Dorothy Maxine (Davis) Boyd.  He excelled as a government trapper for the Texas Parks and Wildlife and received many awards for his performance.  They once said he was in a class by himself. He was very knowledgeable about barbed wire and wrote a book about it.   Larry was beneficial in saving the lacy dog breed and was the registrar for the breed for 12 years.  While he was a man of many talents, Larry’s greatest joy was in his family.   He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and he cherished his mother and sisters who contributed so much to his life.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Dorothy Boyd of Early; sisters, Joylene Boyd Epley of May and Jo Ann Boyd Templeton of Brownwood; children Neshia Kay La Dean Boyd Polk of Hobbs, New Mexico, Millissa Annette Boyd Holz and husband David of Cedar Park, Lyndon Dean Boyd of Baird, Jay Dean Boyd and wife, Tammy of Lufkin, Veronica Mae Boyd Bullard and husband Justin of Tyler and Glenda Joy Boyd Davis of Lufkin; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and nieces Lisa Ford, Stephanie (John) Long and Jennifer (Mark) Canada and nephew Stephen (Debra) Boyd.
