Members of the Lake Dam Volunteer Fire Department drove down to Bastrop on Wednesday, Dec 21st to bring some aid to the victims of the wildfires suffered in the area recently.
According to Tami Brown of the VFD, there were three sport utility vehicles loaded with Christmas for those who suffered devastating loss caused by the Bastrop Complex Fire back in September.
“It was an awesome day, knowing that we could help them have a good Christmas,” said Brown. “We would like to thank those that donated and helped us make this possible. There is still a lot of work to be done and full recovery will be years to come.”
Firefighters decorated the windows of their vehicles and even donned Santa hats and reindeer antlers while making the delivery.
