The public is invited to participate in a photo contest and capture a magic moment at Lake Brownwood State Park this weekend March 29-31.

Images of the joy of a child’s face when they catch their first fish, a hawk observing you from his perch, a view from a historic overlook or the sunset that puts life into perspective can be entered.  Entrants are challenged to capture that magic moment at Lake Brownwood State Park and share the photos with the park to be eligible to win.

Simply stop by the Headquarters at Lake Brownwood State Park and let a staff member know you want to enter the photo contest. You will be given a list of the rules and may sign up at that time. For those who have any specific questions ahead of time, call the park staff at 325-784-5223 or send a message to the park’s Facebook page: Texas Parks and Wildlife: Lake Brownwood State Park.

The overall best photo will be awarded a $50 Wal-Mart gift card (provided by Friends of Lake Brownwood State Park).  Other top photos will receive bragging rights in each of the following categories:

•  Nature (flora/fauna/landscapes)
•  Park Buildings or Structures
•  Activities (people camping, hiking, sitting in flowers, etc.)

Lake Brownwood State Park is located at 200 State Hwy Park Road 15, Brownwood Texas.

Rules of the contest are as follows:

1. The subject of all entries MUST be Lake Brownwood State Park.

2. The deadline to submit entries is Sunday March 31, 2013 at 5:00 pm.  Entries MUST be submitted digitally, directly at Lake Brownwood State Park Headquarters or by email to stephen.gober@tpwd.state.tx.us.
