CityofBrownwoodlogo_smallThe National Weather Service has announced that Lake Brownwood has leveled off at just over 1428 feet and will slowly begin to go down.

The Pecan Bayou has not yet crested.  It is currently at 12.85 feet, and predicted to crest at 14 feet just after sundown this evening, according to Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford.  Flood stage for the Pecan Bayou is 15 feet.  At 14 feet, there will likely be more water in Riverside Park and CC Woodson around the bridge.

Currently there is no flooding in the City of Brownwood, except in Riverside and Fabis Parks, which will remain closed until the water recedes and the parks can be cleaned, said Crawford in a news release mid-morning on Friday.  Both parks are anticipated to reopen Monday afternoon, according to city officials.
