Brown County Water Improvement District No. 1 has closed Lake Brownwood to water recreation until further notice.
On Monday morning, the district closed the lake to water recreation due to flooding. No boats are allowed on the lake.
The lake level as of 10:30 a.m. Monday is 1,425.99, after heavy rains were seen over the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, rain chances remain steady through Thursday.
