The Lady Lions took third place in the Bluebonnet Invitational golf tournament at the Brownwood Country Club on Monday.
The weather did not cooperate at tee time as winds were 25 mph and about an hour, and a half into the tournament, gusts were steady at 44 mph. This made a difficult day for most of the golfers.
There were eleven schools represented in the tournament with a total of 60 girls. The Gatesville girls ran away with the tournament firing a 333, they also had the four lowest scores of the tournament. 1st medalist went to Lauren Davis with a 78, Chelsy Tobin an 81, Katy Colson a 86 and Kristen Smithhart a 88. Lampasas girls shot a 409 for second place.
The Lady Lions took third with a 430. Leading the Lady Lions were Sydney Roberts with a 94, Audrey McKillip a 106, Krista Fragua a 114, Jessica Barrera a 116 and Sierra Mendez a 145 (pictured above).
Individual scores for Early girls were Kassidy Barker a 96, Sharee Stanford a 139, Beth Carrier a 140, Emily Harris a 141 and Callie Campbell a 151.
Individual scores for Bangs girls were McKenzie Calloway-126, Laykin Dent-129, Morgan Morales-138, Charly Lipsey-142 and Rachel Willard-143.
