Brownwood High School Lady Lions golf battled the winds Thursday as they competed at the Llano Invitational Golf Tournament and one member of the team took second place. The tournament was held at the Llano River Golf Course.
Sydney Roberts shot a 76 which had her tied for first place with Gatesville’s senior golfer Katy Colson. They played two holes of sudden death playing number ten and then number eighteen. Katy Colson won the second hole to win the tournament.
“I am so proud of Sydney she had a great round and she’s only a freshman,” said BHS Head Coach Laura Martin.
Fourteen schools were represented in the tournament by fifteen teams.
According to their coach, the Lady Lions played much better and finished in a tie for seventh. Along with Sydney’s 76, the team had other members finished with other good scores including Audrey McKillip in with a 106, Krista Fragua a 110, Jessica Barrerra a 120 and Sierra Mendez a 125 for a team total of 412.
