leapinglionThe Brownwood High School Lady Lions golf team played in the San Angelo Classic over the weekend starting at the Bentwood Country Club on Friday.

Sydney Roberts led the Lady Lions with an 82 which put her in tie for fourth after the first day of play.  Jessica Barrera shot a 121, Audrey McKillip a 123, Krista Fragua a 132, and Sierra Mendez 141. This gave them a team total of 458.

“The second day at Quicksand Golf Course proved to be a competitive battle for Sydney,” said Brownwood High School head coach Laura Martin.  “She struggled on the front and made a great come back on the backside shooting one over for another 82 and a 164 for the tournament ending the day still tied for fourth place with Cassidy Rawls from Snyder, and Gabi Cano of Monahans.”

As a team the Lady Lions shot a 460 on the second day with a total of 918 for both days.  Audrey shot 124, Krista a 125, Jessica a 129, and Sierra a 149.

The Lady Lions will compete in their next tournament on February 21st at the Llano Golf Course.
