It was a three set loss for the Howard Payne University volleyball team against Concordia University Texas Tuesday night at the Coliseum (18-24, 24-26, 22-25).
In the first game, the HPU women were up 9-3 early on, but gave up the lead at 14-15 and went on to lose the match 18-24.
In the second set, the 25th point came on a reversal from the referee to the advantage of Concordia. Concordia would go on to win the set, 24-26.
Concordia would finish off the game in the third taking the set 22-25.
Alison Pringle of CTX led the way with 12 kills on the night. Sammy Ladewig had 15 assists and 11 digs. HPU’s Tamika Heline had 11 kills and 14 digs on the night, while Amber Cantu-Curry finished with 25 assists and 14 digs of her own.
HPU goes to 9-16 overall and 3-13 in the American Southwest Conference. Concordia moves up to 8-12 overall and 7-8 in the ASC.
The next game for the Lady Jackets is senior night at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 at the Coliseum against Sul Ross State University
