ALPINE, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jacket basketball team forced 26 turnovers in a 69-39 win over Sul Ross State University Monday afternoon.
Howard Payne held a 39-19 halftime lead shooting 44% from the field. The Lady Jackets extended their lead in the second and posted the 69-39 victory.
HPU was lead by Kayla Scott off the bench with 12 points on 4 of 6 shooting from behind the arc. Brittany Roberson and Brittani Gattis added 8 points each. Jasmin Thomas had a great game with a bucket, seven assists and three steals.
Nicole Murdock led Sul Ross with 8 points and Shaquana Wall grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.
Howard Payne improves to 5-4 overall and 3-4 in ASC action, while Sul Ross State falls to 0-10 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
Howard Payne plays next in the Concordia University Texas tournament on December 29th against Coe College.
