KERRVILLE, Texas – Howard Payne University’s Leslie Jones recorded her second hat trick of the season in a 3-0 win over Schreiner University Saturday afternoon.
Leslie Jones got her first goal just 4:30 into the game on a Shannon Costello assist. Jones’ second came in the 20th minute. Erica Lopez was credited with the assist.
Jones put the game away for good just two minutes into the second half, Allison Harp with the assist.
Howard Payne outshot Schreiner 23-2 in the game. Courtney Beene was awarded the shutout win in goal for HPU. She recorded one save.
The Lady Jackets end the regular season at 11-5 overall and 9-3 in conference. Schreiner stands at 3-15 overall.
Howard Payne has secured an ASC tournament appearance to be played next weekend in Abilene. the American Southwest Conference will release the official tournament bracket on Sunday at 10 am.
