HPUlogoThe Howard Payne Lady Jacket volleyball team fell in four games 3-1 (25-16,25-17,24-26, 25-22) to visiting Hardin-Simmons University in American Southwest Conference action Tuesday night.

After Howard Payne dropped the first two games 25-16 and 25-17, the Lady Jackets fought hard and won the third game 26-24.

The fourth game was a battle to the end but Hardin-Simmons came out on top 25-22 to win the match 3-1.

Tamika Heline led HPU with 17 kills and 15 digs. Amanda Gutierrez had 11 kills with a .257 attack pct. Kristin Hammond and Sydney Bryant had 13 and 15 digs respectively.

HSU was led by Madison Reyes with 18 kills and a .400 attack pct. Sam Lucien had 35 assists.

HPU now stands at 8-15 overall and 6-9 ASC play while HSU is 17-5 overall and 14-2 ASC.

The Lady Jackets will play again next Saturday at home against Schreiner University. It will be a 4:00 pm start.
