After winning game one 25-21, the Howard Payne University volleyball team dropped the next three to fall to Texas Lutheran University in American Southwest Conference action Tuesday evening.
The HPU Lady Jackets took the first game 25-21 but let the next three slip away 17-25, 19-25 and 21-2
Sarah Bishop and Hannah Hick both hit over .250 and had 15 and 7 kills respectively. Jessica Guerra had 20 assists and Shelby Bridges added 17.
In her final home match of her career, HPU’s Tamika Heline recorded 14 kills, three block assists and a team 14 digs. She also had six service aces in the match. Kristin Hammond, the o
ther Lady Jacket senior, had 13 digs along with two service aces.
Texas Lutheran was led by Sami Springfield with 15 kills. Manda Martin recorded 39 assists.
Howard Payne is now 9-28 overall and 5-13 in ASC play. TLU stands at 13-15 overall and 10-7 in conference.
The Lady Jackets will finish out their season on the road in Jackson, Mississippi at the Millsaps College tournament this weekend.
