IRVING, Texas – Howard Payne University’s Roshonda Gayden scored a game-high 19 points as the Lady Jackets defeated the University of Dallas 77-54 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.
Howard Payne outscored UDallas 40-18 in the paint with senior post player Roshonda Gayden leading the way. Gayden scored a game-high 19 points along with eight rebounds in just 20 minutes of action.
The Lady Jackets are now 8-2 overall while the University of Dallas stands to 2-6 on the year.
Howard Payne never trailed in the game building a 39-25 halftime lead. HPU extended their advantage in the second half leading by 28 with seven minutes to play in the game.
Brittany Roberson finished with 14 points. Britani Gattis the HPU bench with eight. All 20 players on the Howard Payne bench saw action in the game.
Marleyna Bustamante and Brooke Hagemann each finished with 12 points for UDallas.
Howard Payne will return to action after the Christmas break with a conference road trip to Sul Ross State University on December 31st.
