Press Release from BISD – Cindy Robnett is this year’s Lady Cubs Volleyball “Digging for a Cure” recipient. Robnett was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, has had surgery, and is in the early stages of recovery. The Lady Cubs teams recently traveled to Robnett’s house and presented her with posters, flowers, and a “Diggin for a Cure” t-shirt, while the coaches presented her a check for $750.
The Lady Cubs started “Digging for a Cure” a few years ago to honor those fighting breast cancer and changed to “Digging for DaLin” when DaLin Cummings, the BMS Librarian, was diagnosed. DaLin, who played high school volleyball for Middle School Coach, Judy Kennedy, fought a courageous battle against breast cancer, and passed away in August.
The Lady Cubs Volleyball teams and coaches are committed to remembering DaLin and recognizing others still fighting this deadly disease in the Brownwood community.
